I attended Clayton College & State University for many years while trying to decide what to do with my life. I started when they were Clayton State College and lasted through the name change. The school is a good middle of the road school. There are some great teachers and there are some teachers just hanging on until retirement. They seem to be stuck trying to figure out what type of school they want to be. They have a great nursing program.
PROS: Good middle of the road school
CONS: Not recognized outside of Georgia
The Zoo is the place to go for family fun in the summer. Pandas, monkeys, zebras, lions; there is something for everyone and kids love the place. They opened the new kids Outback area near the trains which has an amazing petting zoo. The kids have a great playground but it is always a little too crowded and not very clean. My son loves to go to the zoo but it is always crowded. The best times to go are when it is a little rainy or slightly cold. More of the animals are out and more people stay home.
PROS: Good Family Fun!
CONS: Very Crowded during the Summer
Snip Its looks like a place from a Dr. Seuss book when you first walk in. The place is so kid friendly with its televisions and play area. The staff members greeted us immediately and treated my son like a big shot. He was given some goldfish crackers and a lollypop right away. He was great during his hair cut and his stylist treated him like a big boy by asking him what kind of style he wanted. The place is a bit pricy and parking is under the building.
PROS: Great place and friendly staff
CONS: Pricy and parking is a little hard to find
I am all about self expression but the last time that I went into this MAC store, the person with multiple face piercings and black hair scared my son a little. Once we got past that, the makeup is to die for. The prices are reasonable and the makeup can hide a multitude of flaws. Go in for a makeover. They may look scary but they know makeup and can help you find anything you need.
PROS: Excellent Makeup
CONS: Artsy Looking People Scared My Son
We took my son here for his first haircut. When did haircuts for children reach the $25 price? He is three and it took five minutes.
They greeted my son and made him feel like a bigshot. They had a train table to play with and gave him a prize when he was finished. The only bad part was paying the bill. One of the chairs was broken also. We would probably go back because my son did love it and they took a picture of him.
PROS: Adorable store
I received my MBA from Mercer in 2000. I attended the Atlanta location and was able to get my degree in two years while working full time. It was rough but I did it. They have some great teachers and a really good curriculum. The school is so incredibly expensive that I now wish I had waited to get my degree. I will be paying off student loans and collecting social security at the same time.
PROS: Good teachers
CONS: Expensive, will break the bank
I have been a Sam's shopper for years and frequent the Clairmont Road location. The store is clean, well maintained and well laid out. While you never find ridiculously cheap items, you will find good deals and quality items here. The only problems I have ever had is when I need assistance and then the place is like a ghost town.
PROS: Great deals!
CONS: Hard to find help if you need it
We have been patiently waiting for years for the world's largest aquarium to open. Now that it has, large unruly crowds have kept me away. I have a Season pass that I have used one time this year. The place is amazing. Sharks, fish, a barrier reef and much more will mesmerize adults and children alike. Of course, this is only if they can get up close to see it. The Aquarium has no procedures for crowd control and the place is so crowded that we find it impossible to enjoy ourselves. Perhaps next year the management will do a better job with crowd control and we can try again.
PROS: Amazing and very educational
CONS: Large crowds sometimes cause unsafe environment
This cute and funky restaurant in a former house has a wide appeal to adults with its mismatched dishes. The menu offers a wide variety of sandwiches and entrees at very reasonable costs. The portions are the perfect size and the service was good. Although the restaurant did not WOW us, it was good and we would probably return.
PROS: Great location and staff
CONS: A little crowded, Not for children
Dr. Koenig cares for my children as if they were her own. She was born to be a pediatrician and every visit, whether sick or well, she is always upbeat and knowledgeable. She has patiently answered questions; sometimes the same questions over and over again until I understand. My children love her and have asked to go back to the doctor after leaving her office. This is such a great practice with amazing doctors.
PROS: Dr. Koenig and staff
CONS: Busy Practice so call ahead
