I?ve had a lot of good conversations with homeless folk here buying flowers, but that?s the only outstanding thing about this shop. The prices are not bad ? they?re affordable, but this is not the place where you can have a gorgeous bouquet created. What you?ll get is a standard, boring bouquet with average service.
CONS: Average florist
I love going to the Meadows for bouquets, and every time I need one I drive here. The girls here are very helpful and friendly and put together classic, lovely bouquets. They always have a lovely selection of traditional plants and flowers as well as unusual ones. Although this is not the place to find a deal, the Meadows won?t let you down.
PROS: Gorgeous flowers, talented florists
CONS: Not cheap
My friend and I came here to drop off a lost cat with an injury. The receptionist was very sweet, sympathetic, and helpful, and did not keep us waiting. A veterinary technician came to get the cat from us, and she was also sweet and seemed like she genuinely cared about the animal. I?d definitely bring my pets here ? the people are so compassionate.
PROS: Great and compassionate staff!
My dog hated this place. The services were affordable, but the service was definitely sub par. This was not surprising, as the store itself was a bit shabby and uncomfortable. The groomers didn?t know how to trim my dog?s tail and just snipped the end, leaving a strange uniform tuft of hair at the end of his tail. I wouldn?t recommend this place.
CONS: Not the greatest groomers, grungy facility
I brought a pair of pants here to be taken in. Although the lady I spoke to was adorable, I felt that she couldn?t really understand me due to the language barrier, and was a bit hesitant to have the alteration done here. But I did, and I regret it. The hemming looked unprofessional, like I could have done it myself. It also cost $40. I haven?t been back since, and I have never worn those pants.
PROS: Nice staff
CONS: Awful work, bad price for low quality
After a horrifying experience at another local tailor, I tried this place to get a pair of pants shortened, and I wasn?t disappointed. The jeans look perfect, and the service is very affordable. The tailors here are very sweet and professional. Although this place is a bit out of the way, I?d definitely come back here.
PROS: Good service, affordable
I took a vintage dress here to get it better fitted, and the lady here did an amazing job. She was very attentive, timely and pleasant, and her services are pretty affordable. I needed to get the waist taken in and the sleeves and end of the dress re-hemmed, and it was about $60. I forgot what her name was, though. She also makes beautiful silk furniture drapes.
PROS: Great service
This place is so cute. I get the Express Manicure and Pedicure, it?s about $40 ? the shortened version of the Spa Manicure and Pedicure, and it?s a great investment on my extremities. The ladies here always do a thorough job and are fun and pleasant, and the salon is very clean, classy and upbeat.
PROS: Beautiful mani/pedi, cute salon
The French manicures here are about $20, and although they?re not spectacular, they?re worth it. The location is convenient for Cal students, and walk-ins are welcomed. I?ve had to wait up to twenty minutes as a walk-in. They only have one massage pedicure chair though, so if you?d rather not wait fifteen minutes, book an appointment.
PROS: Quick appointments, cheap
CONS: Not a place for luxury
This salon is bright, youthful, and funky, but not too funky. They do amazing and very thorough manicure and pedicure combinations. I got my nails done here, and the polish lasted forever, even my fingers ? about two weeks without chipping. The service is here is very professional, and the people here know what they?re doing. Get an appointment just to be sure to avoid the wait.
PROS: Amazing manicures
