This is a terrific family-owned business. I found them via NPR's Car Talk website where they were highly rated, and I found them to be very deserving of that honor. Not only do they do excellent work, not only are the prices right, but they are the epitome of "service with a smile." Owner Terry is terrific, very personable, very knowledgeable, and only charges for what's necessary -- as a matter of fact, I got out of there for less than they had quoted. In my particular situation, I needed my timing belt replaced (normal 60,000 mile interval replacement), and every other shop I got a quote from said that I had to get the water pump replaced at the same time and quoted me as such. Terry said that I MAY need it replaced and that they absolutely wouldn't do so if it didn't need it. It didn't, and I saved $150. So you're looking for one of the honest auto shops out there? Now you got one!
I have visited almost all of the dog boarding places and/or doggie daycares throughout the Orlando area and Pawsh Pet is, by far, the best one my dog has ever been to. You can tell just by walking in the front door how top notch it is -- it is EXCEEDINGLY clean and very fresh-smelling, and that is half the battle at these kinds of businesses. The owner, Holly, and her terrific staff are as friendly and professional as can be, and their affection for my dog is obvious. The thing that impresses me is that they clearly took the time to plan and think out what works best for all their canine and feline guests. For dogs, in particular, you can expect yours to be kept busy all day in their terrific indoor play areas AND (weather-permitting) in their AMAZING long, grassy outdoor play corridors. I have not found one other boarding facility in the entire Orlando area that has as good an outdoor set-up as Pawsh does. There are a couple of other boarding facilities in the Clermont/Winter Garden vicinity where the indoor play areas are not in the best shape or are simply nonexistent, or where their outdoor areas are questionable at best (or nonexistent) -- and at least one where the dogs are kept in their little cubicles all day, in a very smelly back room, and are only let outside individually with no group play at all. So, for me, there wasn't a moment's hesitation of where to take my dog when I moved to Clermont last month. (FYI, I'm a theme park cast member.)
Arriving in Orlando recently I could find no solid recommendation for a good vet. I visited two via an internet search only to discover old facilities, with indifferent staffs -- doctors were ok, but at least one overcharged me. Then someone at a dog park recommended Animal Health Center and Dr. Doug Jones. Oh, how I wish I had found him before! Nice, modern and CLEAN facility. Staff excellent -- knowledgeable, friendly, highly professional. I KNEW the second Dr. Jones walked into the room that he would be THE vet for us as long as we live here -- the search was over. From the way he presents himself in terms of his demeanor and look, to his interaction with my girl, to his medical knowledge, to the ample time spent, there wasn't even a moment's hesitation about him. This fellow is as great with the owner as with the pet -- which means a lot. AND, no frivolous charges -- very reasonable. If you've been searching for a vet, look no further. (BTW, I'm a theme park cast member)
PROS: Highly knowledgeable vet with great demeanor; reasonably priced
CONS: Only open 'til 5 on weekdays
