I was shopping around for a new eye doctor. I asked friends and family for recommendations, but their recommended doctors got bad reviews on websites, so I just ventured out and found my own eye doctor. I chose this one because it accepted my vision insurance and was close to my workplace and the Bethesda Metro station. I was annoyed that when I arrived for my appointment, I was told that there was no such appointment, when I had made sure on the phone a few days earlier to repeat the date and time to make sure. Well, they still took me. The doctor was nice and did a good job with examining my eyes and talking to me about how my vision was good enough for me to go without eyeglasses but that I could get them if I wanted to. I decided to buy glasses, just because blurriness in my vision is slightly noticeable. The glasses are sold in the bottom floor of this suite. Their selection of brand-name glasses was disappointing to me, so I found a pair of designer glasses instead. The staff did not assist me much with selecting frames, but they didn't need to, as I looked around on my own. I spent a few hundred dollars on Prada glasses after my insurance discount. I guess it is OK... The glasses were ready for my pickup three days later. I haven't worn glasses since my LASIK several years ago, so my eyes must adjust a little, but I do see clearly. I will return to this eye doctor for my yearly eye exams.
Last weekend my husband and I noticed that our heating and cooling system was leaking and had soaked the carpet in the basement. I found Air Efficiency Systems online through another review website and through the BBB website, where they got good reviews. So my husband called them to get a price quote for repairing our system. They called us back promptly on Saturday and made an appointment with us for Sunday. A friendly and knowledgeable man showed up and fixed the system, adding freon and doing whatever else (sorry, I'm not an expert so can't explain very well!). We have had air conditioning in our house ever since. Now it is so much more comfortable on a hot, summer day. The price of the service was reasonable, especially for being on a Sunday.
Our basement got flooded, ruining carpet and bookcases. Our insurance company chose this ServiceMaster to remove the wet and moldy carpet and bookcases and to dry the floor. Over the course of the experience, we had contact with a few employees of ServiceMaster. They were all respectful and knowledgeable about how to clean up the mess and even how to deal with the insurance company (they also took photos of the damage and submitted them to the insurance company for us). ServiceMaster helps customers to clean up many types of disasters. You can see more information about their services online at http://www.servicemasterofarlington.com/. If we ever need assistance with cleaning up something again, we will be sure to call ServiceMaster.
I went in for a trim because the ends of my hair were starting to split a bit. I wanted to keep the length of my hair because I liked it and it took a long time to grow out. My hair is now a few inches shorter, the ends are uneven, and my hair no longer falls nicely/cascades down my back. The haircut was just OK. I will say that all of the employees were friendly. Maybe I will try this business again.
My coworkers and I have gone to this Mexican restaurant for lunches multiple times. The food, service, and prices have always been very good. We even held a party here for my entire company of about 100 employees in the upstairs area of the restaurant, and the staff was very communicative and helpful the entire time. They kept walking up to me to give me updates about food availability, technical equipment, etc. so that my event would be successful.
My husband and I had planned to get takeout from this restaurant on the 4th of July, but we decided to eat in the restaurant in person instead when we saw that it was surprisingly pretty empty. The seating hostess led us to a room that had only one other table of customers in it. She decided to seat us at a very small table right next to a wall, but my husband is a big guy who needs space, so he requested that she give us a different table. She had an attitude about it but led us to one of the many other available tables. Our waiters were respectful and smiley. Our ribs, pulled pork, and side dishes all tasted good, and they filled up our stomachs so we had no room for dessert. It would be nice if this restaurant's women's bathroom had more than one sink.
I was tired of eating at the same restaurants in Tenleytown, so I proposed to my coworkers that we eat at Satay Club, which has been open for a while but we for some reason had never been to. I think that everybody in my group enjoyed their food. I enjoyed every bite of my vegetable roll, miso soup, and green curry chicken rice. The sizes were also pretty large for the pretty low price. One of my coworkers liked the restaurant so much that she wanted to return the very next day. Once again, we enjoyed our food, this time different dishes. We did think that my appetizer of crab rangoon was very skimpy on crab, so it was not the best-tasting that we have had.
I can't believe that I have walked past this Japanese restaurant dozens and dozens of times and never tried it until today. The tables were small, all seating just two people, but my group of six people was accommodated by moving three of the tables together. The food was slow in being delivered to our table (sort of a long wait after we placed our orders), but all of the food--soups, noodles, sushi, salmon--tasted good and was appropriately priced. The salad bar was very small and not worth it, so I didn't bother buying it for the extra $2.
A coworker suggested that I try this restaurant after she had gone there and liked it. I am glad to have tried it. The chicken, fries, and salad were tasty and were very reasonably priced. It's not the best-ever-tasting and did not have too much of a Peruvian or Latin American flavor as it was supposed to, but it was good. The cashier was nice. The food was cooked in an expected amount of time. There was plenty of seating at tables, even around lunchtime.
I went here to eat lunch with a coworker in the mid afternoon. We each ordered a slice of pizza. The wait for the slices was very long, although we were the only customers there, and the pizza seemed to already have been made. The pizza was not the freshest but tasted fine. The cashier was friendly and served us free waters. There was plenty of seating at small tables around the place.
