Been going there for a while. Consitently good sushi and you can actually enjoy a variety of dishes. Some of the selection however is starting to get a bit stale. The Marine Polis on Broadway offers a better selection, especially if you like daring or vegetarian selection
What is it about this chain. They seem to be going downhill across the board. We have several Koji Osakaya in Portland and they were so so. Decided the try to one in Seattle since I was hungry for Japanese.. Same thing.. This business needs a fresh makeover.
This business has been around forever. They serve good chocolates and they have a decent selection. I find their chocolates are not up to par with some of other finer establishments.
I'm a big suchi fan and always on the lookout for a find. Takahashi #2 was satisfying, but not quite as good as the original location on Holgate. The atmosphere here doesn't quite reach the same level as the original location. Also, I found the sushi was not quite flavored the same - the rice and wasabi mix was not quite right. They had a good selection and the service was prompt and very professional.
Portland is blessed with many fantastic restaurants, especially if you're into ethnic foods. I've always felt the selection for Korean, however, has been slim. I was happy to run across Toji the other day. You always know a restaurant is good and authentic by the number of clientelle of the same ethnic background. Seeing a large number of such clientelle, I decided to give Toji a try. It was well worth it. The food is superb, you can grill food right at your own table and the meat and selection is fantastic. Service was somewhat unattentive, but they were busy. I'll definitely give them plenty of other chances to impress me.
Had a team building session at my company there. First time laser tagging fun, fast, and furious. I recommend it. The facility is somewhat cramped and not quite what I was excited. Watch out for weekends when it get overrun by teens.
I've visited Innerweave twice and had a good experience during both visits. Massage was professional and thorough. The facility is not quite up to par with some of the swankier places, but, it really depends on what you're in for.
Great menu and the food is consistently cooked well (it's a plus the chef owner is there all the time to ensure quality) Have to be careful to choose menu items you like.... I recommend the mezza feat (for 3 or more people) you'll get many delicious items that are not part of the standard mezza. service can be spotty, especially when they get busy, but, generally, everyone is eager and they try their best
If you're looking for authentic (take from someone who's travelled to Japan extensively) Japanese food, this is one of the best restaurants in Portland. I just got back from Tokyo and was hungry for a taste of Japan - I virtually could not tell the difference. My ratings of the restaurant shot up when they moved to their new location - bigger, brighter, cleaner. Also, service seems to have gotten more professional and eager. Definitely worth a try - highly recommend
Just took some out of town visitors to Sungari Pearl. They were blown away by this restaurant (I've gone there so many times I forget how good it is.) Portland has many fine chinese rest. but this one is above the rest. Great food, nice menu, service is good and the atmosphere is hip yet pleasant. Very clean facilities and the food ingredients are superior.
