I??m a long-time customer. I first called Home Base Computer Services when our network was crashed and the computer consultant we??d been using couldn??t figure out the cause and we could barely work. Neil from Home Base came over and fixed in ten minutes what the other guy had been fooling around with for almost a week. Needless to say, Home Base Computer Services has been the only place we??ve called for upgrades and repairs since then, and I??ve never been disappointed.
I had skylights put into my house. The workmen were professional, they showed up when they said they would, finished when they said they would, and didn't come up with any surprises with the costs. The skylights have been leak-free and the company delivered on their promises, which, in construction, is pretty rare.
There are few places with coffee that is better than Peets. They also have a selection of baked goods that have never disappointed. However, there's usually a lengthy line, and parking, while not impossible, isn't the easiest. I order basic coffee, so I like to go places that I can dash in and dash out, so I usually bypass Peets because of the line even though the coffee is so good. Try Ettores up the street, although I don't know if they do any of the fancy espresso drinks like Peets.
I ate here a few times. It's a basic Indian buffet, nothing fancy, but reasonably priced and the food was good. The last time I went there I went home with food poisoning. Sure, it might have just been a fluke and a one-time event caused by unsanitary conditions by a slacker employee who was fired the next day, but I'm done giving places a second chance - the only other time I got food poisoning from a restaurant, I gave them a second chance and got food poisoning the very next time. I won't be back to find out whether Mother India improved their conditions.
Cookies is not much to look at, but neat because they sell Ostrich burgers there, which were pretty tasty. On my fourth or fifth time going there, I got a case of food poisoning - violently throwing up for six hours or so. Not fun. It took me a while to go back, but decided to give them the benefit of the doubt because it could have just been a fluke or a bad supplier, or even possibly something else I ate somewhere else, and those ostrich burgers were so darn tasty. I went back a month later and ordered the same thing, and yep, you guessed it, food poisoning again. I've only had food poisoning three times in my life, and this place caused of two of them. No thanks.
Great baked goods. I haven't tried the restaurant part of the business in several years, but am a regular customer of their bakery. I recommend their apple cinnamon rolls if you want a quick snack to go, or their Kahlua cake if you want to bring a special treat to someone's birthday, or as a dessert treat on a date. Their coffee is very good.
Their location may not be as pretty as some of the other places you could go, but your car won't mind. I've received great service from these people and they had good prices. They didn't try to sell me the most expensive tires on the rack and recommended some good generic tires that were just as good as the others.
I've had good repairs here over several years. I always get sticker shock when I get my car repaired here, but then I try to save money by going to cheaper companies and am unhappy with the repairs the other places perform. So, I keep coming back, because I'd rather pay more and get the repair done right the first time. They'd get five stars if I didn't feel like they got dollar signs in their eyes when I drove up.
