Hair Cuttery

I am one of those that really hates to get my haircut. I usually go with a ponytail. I have been going (with confidence) to the Hair Cuttery, and so far the haircuts have been decent. Patricia, the manager, is a sweetheart. Today I got a haircut by Kathy. I brought some photos, and she pretty-closed-to-nailed-it.
I paid $13 (plus tip) and did not have to wait for a chair to open, or an appointment.
HIGHLY RECOMMEND KATHY!

Orland Park Public Library

Everything you want is there, it seems. Great computer classes, for residents, and wonderful presentations for adults. Reading programs and fun things for kids and teens.

They are linked to a bunch of other libraries, so it is very RARE to not be able to get what you want by surfing their website and requesting it be sent in for you.

Tails-A-Waggin' Pet Grooming

Yes, it is a bit far from my house, but I got this tip from a friend. This place is great for my large Labradoodle. He's a great pooch, and we make the drive every two months (during the warm weather), to get his hair chopped, nails, trimmed, ears cleaned...the works!
The owner is Claudia, and she is SOOOOOOOO nice. A friend of mine lives that way and encouraged me to try it, after we had been to a few more local-to-my -home shops.
What we love about this shop:
A. Friendly
B. The dogs are all groomed UPFRONT (this was important to me)
C. The shop was clean
D. They treated my dog so well.

Josephs Painting Service

Today we used the painting services of Joseph's Painting Service out of Orland Park. Joe, the owner, was a very nice man, and we had had 3 total estimates. His was by FAR the lowest. I called a neighbor for reference, as Joe had pointed out that he had painted their house (inside, ours was exterior, only).
She indicated that he was a very good painter, and had a very good crew.
He showed up early in the morning, and had the job wrapped up within a few hours. (Wasn't a huge job, just doors and trim work.)

The work seems fine, and they cleaned up after themselves. I would recommend them, at this point, but with a reminder to always get estimates for comparison. If the paint peels prematurely, or we find any problems, I will edit this post for sure!

Dr. Dutton

Nice doctor. Very kind and compassionate. Smart, in my humble option. Clean office. Sometimes the office staff girls are not so friendly, but whatever. The physician assistants are very nice.
