This little boutique store has a lot of charm from yesteryear. You will probably see something that perhaps Grandma kept around her place. They also support their local schools and that is #1 in my book.
I've had food from their farmer's market stand so I was anxious to try their new restaurant in downtown Milwaukie. Wasn't very impressed. The food was okay. Portions sucked. Prices were more than what I felt were warranted for the food I got. To top it all off, the owner was trying to tell me that I should like regular asparagus NOT baby. WHAT the heck??
My daughter had 2 of her teeth knocked out during a softball game and Dr. Baumgarth was very thorough and gentle during the whole process. He explained the possible scenarios. After our appointments with him, my daughter became much more relaxed.
We use Julie's for business travel planning. Michelle has always been so wonderful assisting me when I need itineraries for travel that has already happened so we can bill our clients. Easy to find location in LO.
Because this is a middle school, it's hard to form good parent networking. They do not have a parent group but I have heard that one is starting up this year by some enthusiastic parents! My son enjoyed Tech (formerly known as shop) because in 2nd year Tech you have race tournaments with cars that the students build and use CO2 bottles to fuel/propel them. Spanish with Mr. Nich was fun and prompted my son to continue taking the language in HS. They have volleyball, basketball, track for after-school sponsored sports. They do work closely with the neighboring high school to prepare them for HS curriculm.
They have a huge lot in front with tennis courts, basketball court, baseball and softball fields plus a large open space in the back of the school.
My two kids went to this school; my son went thru 4th & 5th grades and my daughter went thru kindy. We loved Mrs. Fitz, the PE teacher. I helped to supervise the student store which kids loved! The teachers we had were good, especially Mrs. Riechers. This is also a mandarin chinese immersion school.
I've used these folks at least twice for team trophies. We've been happy both times. I actually went again to buy trophies but they have since moved and there was no indication what happened.
The hubby and I went here to have lunch one day and I about choked at the prices (averaged $13-15). This place is in Milwaukie, not downtown Portland or the Pearl District. Needless to say, we decided to leave as I couldn't find anything that really looked so grub that I would spend that kind of moola.
I like these guys better than Quizno's and they are comparable to Subway. They have more than just deli sandwiches like soups. I've never had their espresso as I'm not a coffee drinker but they do serve it here. Good cookies too!
I needed front end work on my civic and went here to get a quote. J&M ended up being the most expensive quote of the three I got. The guy who helped me was okay although I didn't feel like he was spending any extra time explaining their process. I'll get a quote again but unlikely to do business.
