Going to thrift shops are always interesting because you never know what you'll find.... Value Village has promos with 50% off days or special color tags. Not as big as Goodwill, or as organized. If you have time to rummage around, you'll probably walk out with at least a good find (or two).
I took my Honda Civic here today for an oil change. I normally take it somewhere else but thought since a coupon came in the mail and I needed windshield fluid, let's try here -- it's a dealer.
My experience was fine. They greeted me immediately. I sat and waited in the customer lounge for about 45 minutes, as promised. I could drink Starbucks Coffee, Tazo tea or hot cocoa while watching TV or reading several mags laying around (mostly sports or auto related -- not much for the gals).
Easy to get to in Gladstone.
We've driven past this place many times. Then I found a coupon for a buy 1/get 1 free dinner. We couldn't even get in the front door because it smelled so bad of smoke. I have no idea what the food tastes like but unless you like a smoke-filled atmosphere, better stay away.
this close by pub & grill (in Sellwood) is a great locale to watch your fav sports game. Outdoor seating on nice weather days. Happy hour specials. A neighborhood hangout. Good service.
This cute diner-like restaurant in Sellwood feels like a friend's place. Very small place but big on personality. You can find Bertie Lou's pretty easily. They have street parking so you may need to walk a short block to get there. I haven't eaten there but see people inside nearly every time I drive by.
Pizzicato is known around Portland for very good gourmet pizza. You can find your typical favorites here but also some not-so-well-known kinds. I like their crust and their pizza sauce has good flavor. You won't be disappointed when eating at Pizzicato.
I just stopped by here for a lunch combo meal (BBQ pork fried rice, pork chow mein, egg foo young). The fried rice and egg foo young were mediocre. The chow mein was tasty with lots of bean sprouts (I like that). I am a little more picky about chinese food. This is equivalent to fast-food chinese restaurant quality.
These guys are very helpful. We needed additional deck supplies when the other lumber store ran out of what we needed. Our friend in the business called up the order and my husband went the next day to pay for it. They had it all set up and was helped quickly. We'll go here again. Plus, they sell Trex decking materials.
Our family loves mexican food, especially authentic taste. These guys converted an old Taco Time restaurant into Rigoberto's. Plenty of food for small prices. Chicken is okay -- not all white meat. Beef nachos are good. Tacos and burritos are good, and big!
Our personal income taxes can be a bit tricky when filing so we decided to take our stuff to H&R Block. This branch location is small but helpful and friendly. You can file electronically thru these guys and get your refund fast!
