Pho Hoa Binh serves really good Vietnamese cuisine. They are also a great place to go if you're a veggie, because they serve great tofu. My favorite is the lemongrass tofu.
Service is always very fast, and the price is more than reasonable.
Buster's has a really good selection of wine and liquor and it's in a safe place in town.
The staff here is nice enough and friendly, and the prices are on par with most liquor stores you'll find. But ultimately, I come for the selection and security.
I dont' have kids, but that hasn't kept me away from CMoM.
This place is actually a lot of fun, and you'll find yourself playing in all the exhibits. For a child, I'm sure this is also quite educational.
Be sure to check out special events here. There's always something new featured here every month.
I love Old Towne Bakery. I've used them on several occasions, but I'd like to make note of two:
Once, when I ordered a massive sheet cake from a chain grocery store, they totally messed it up. Thankfully, I had a good report with the nice people at OTB, and they helped me fix the cake and save me embarrassment at the event.
Another time, they decorated a cake for my friend's baby shower. I brought the beautiful cake to the shower and everyone was in LOVE. The cake was beautiful and it tasted great, too.
The people here are talented, friendly, and they care about their customers!
Celtic Crossing, located in the former Glass Onion, is a good ol' Irish-inspired setting for drinking beer with friends.
Their outdoor patio lets you drink outside and overlook the Cooper Young crowds.
Nice bar, good service, well decorated interior.
Barksdale's a nice place to go for a casual breakfast. The interior won't impress you much, but the experience is moreso about getting a good ol' Southern breakfast.
The food's greasy, but that's why you should go. And the staff's usually pretty nice. Plus, meals are cheap.
Not intended for the health conscious.
Black Lodge isn't your average video rental place. They have EVERYTHING. They have the absolute best selection of foreign, independent and cult classics.
Rental fees and terms are pretty reasonable.
This place is alright. Obviously, they have a pretty expansive selection of wine as it is a wine bar. The prices are what you would expect for such a bar.
However, the service is what you'd expect, as well. I wouldn't say this environment was worth the snobbish attitudes of the wait staff, but they were snobby nonethless.
Also, the cheeses aren't great. I ordered four different cheese and only one of them tasted fresh. And those were definitely overpriced.
Ascoelse has a lot of good things going for it. It's there by the convention center, the interior is very adorable (I think it was an old Mexican building back in the day), and the food is delicious.
A bit pricey, but worth the taste.
It's also a nice venue after hours. This place sometimes hosts bands out on the patio. It can be a lot of fun out there.
Dr. Bledsoe's a cool guy, and he's got a very gentle staff.
I've never waited very long when showing up for an appointment here, and not once has a dental hygienist man-handled my mouth.
Nice, professional, and most importantly CLEAN dental office.
