The Philadelphia Museum of Art is an extensive facility of the finest art in America. It takes you through century after century of art and culture. From the Japanese gardens which stimulate the mind with its scerene backdrops and wall hangings to the art deco room which questions the mind and the eye. It is a highlight of philadelphia
So I didn't care for their pastries to much and their cannoli's didn't quite reach the bar, but their Italian cookie trays are remarkable so that makes up for the rest. Absolutely a great cookie place, especially for events
Fresh Italian specialties at great prices, true south philly style adn extensive menu items that have an old italy feel, and the best slice of sicilian tomato pie around. Bellisimo
Great place for a South Philly favorite, I grew up around the corner from this place and to this day you can revisit it any day of the week to get some fresh fried dough balls covered in powered sugar. My favorite mom and pop bakery from homemade Italian specialties and the faragalli family is the nicest.
Denise's is the best Bakery in the city for cake. These cakes are to die for, to the point where they are even sold by the slice because of the decadency of each bite. You would never find this place unless someone who was from the city showed you how to get there. It is one of the hidden treasures of North Philadelphia. If you go, you won't regret the trip.
Looking for A Kosher Breakfast of Smoked Samon, Lox, Whitefish and Bagels, Zeke's is the place. It is small in size but big in its portions and freshness. it gets very busy in this little location but service is reliable and fast. No waiting here. traditional breakfast menu is available also, but the Kosher is the way to go.
Metropolitan Bakery has a wide variety of Fresh breads. There prices are a little higher than most bread bakeries, but the product is worth a little extra
I like this Cinnabon if only for the fact that the Cinnabons are not stale when you purchase them, also the younger employees at this particular location are attentive and helpful.
Red Sky is a very young, urbanesque facility, the decor of the restaurant is entrancing and the food very succulent. My only dislike was it gets a little noisy between the upstairs lounge and the DJ. But it is somewhere I would revisit with my girlfriends for a night out.
Morimoto's is my absolute favorite restaurant in Philadelphia. The atmosphere is a feeling of a mystical under-the-sea land, the food is inventive and perfectly prepared. The menu is a full scale delicasy from the fresh Sushi and sashimi to the Enormous entree's and impeccable desserts. Truly a extrodinary dining experience.
