Go for the books but stay for the animals! If you have kids, you must make a stop at Wild Rumpus. This is a great lazy afternoon kind of place. Visit the cats, chickens, birds and mice and you won't want to go home. Don't forget to make a stop in the bathroom and turn of the light to see the fish tank behind the mirror!
Having been members for 15 years or so, we are sold on REI. The staff is friendly and always knows what they are talking about. We have purchased outdoor clothing, roof racks for the car, snowshoes and many other outdoor necessities at great prices. If they don't have it in stock they will ship to the nearest REI store for free.
We visit Bill's for huge cans of olive oil, but always walk away with much more than that. I could spend hours shopping in here. Try some of the olives or cheeses too. You won't be disappointed!
I love this place! Since moving to Northeast Minneapolis I'm not able to shop here nearly as much as when we lived south. We miss that. The staff has gotten much friendlier since our days of shopping here on a regular basis. The food is so fresh and this made us realize it is worth buying organic! We have been hooked for years.
This place is busy whenever we go and it's always worth the wait. The food is great and the staff is friendly. You have to have a couple of beers when you go, but try the other drinks too. It can get a bit loud on game nights so be prepared.
The burgers are good here too. It's nothing fancy, but always busy. The perfect atmosphere to meet friends for a couple of beers. The parking lot is always full, but street parking is available. Some of the menu items are pricey so stick to the basics.
The atmosphere here is not especially friendly, but the food is out of this world. After deciding what you want at your table, write it down and bring it to the register to pay. When it is brought out to your table, you will be pleasantly surprised! the coffee is wonderful and the pancakes are worth every penny. Go hungry!
Driving to Lake Pepin on a Saturday morning we discovered this cafe. It is light and bright with fresh grown food that makes you feel "clean"! The staff is always friendly and it's the kind of place that makes you want to spend the night. Too bad it's not a B&B!
This quaint little bar in downtown Minneapolis never disappoints. The prices are great, staff is friendly, and bartenders generous! I wouldn't hesitate to head here for a date night with my husband or a girls night out. It's a tight space and it fills up quickly. Whenever I go here I feel like I'm in Boston. The atmosphere is wonderful!
I'm mixed on this place. It seems to be a pickup joint for the young and attractive, but the drinks are fabulous. The food is wonderful, but don't go if you are feeling fat and ugly; you will feel worse when you leave! Consider sitting outside in the summer. At the very least, you will do some great people watching!
