I have eaten at this Round Table a number of times, as it is a favorite of a friend of mine. It's kind of an old-fashioned style pizza place. Their pepperoni has a good flavor and definitely is not bland. They have a good variety of toppings, but no ground beef. They do have money saving family nights early in the week and will give you coupons to help defray the cost. But, at regular menu prices, it's a little on the pricey side. They also have a salad bar with a nice selection of goodies. It's your basic family pizza joint in a strip mall ambiance.
I suppose things might have changed, as I haven't been there in three years. But, the reason I quit going there was that I got sick on their food, twice! I'm willing to forgive once, maybe a bad day, perhaps it was something else I ate... etc. But after it happened a second time, I was done. It's too bad because the garlic knots are outstanding and on those occasions when the salad is fresh and crisp, it is tasty! The pizza is adequate. It's better than Domino's or Papa John's, but not by much. Definitely not among the elite. The patio is terrific when the weather is nice.
This place comes highly recommended, but our experience was split along gender lines. The women loved it, they gushed over the salads! I did taste the spinach salad, and it was delicious! But the pizza was really bland, none of the guys liked it. I suppose if you're into cafe pizza (Puck, CPK) then give it a shot, but if you want traditional pizza, skip this place!
PROS: Tasty Salads, Nice Neighborhood
CONS: Bland Pizza
The pizza was not good. This place does a real disservice to the term Chicago style pizza! The beer was ok, but nothing to rave about. The service was mediocre, as their attitude seemed to be, take it or leave it. I see no reason to return.
