This is a family owned restaurant, where they remember you if you come in more than once. The food is delicious and a good value. You can dine in, pick up, or order delivery. We especially love their pizza, but everything they make is tasty. They also have a decent selection of beer and wine to go with your meal.
This place makes a bacon and cheese wrapped shrimp that is absolutely scrumptious! There are two versions- steamed and fried. Fried is better, although both are tasty. We've also had some of their soups and other fish dishes, and everything has been good. Service is sometimes slow, but if your arteries can handle it the bacon shrimp is definitely worth the wait.
When we were new to the area we got lost and ended up here one rainy night. The food was just average (comparable to Denny's or Coco's) but the prices were good and the staff was wonderful. They were not only fast with the food but also gave us directions home, recommended nearby markets, post offices, etc, and hung up our coats to dry.
Other hospitals have labeled our cat "vicious" but at Berkley they very easily managed to keep his stress low, which kept him docile. Also, they didn't try to push procedures on us that we didn't need and were very up front about costs. All in all a pleasant experience.
This is a great little store with all kinds of unusual stuff. My daughter calls it "The Pirate Store" because they sell A LOT of pirate themed stuff, including life-sized pirate statues. They also sell hand made jewelry, candles and incense, and all kinds of neat stuff. They also do shows of local artists' work, and occasionally have things like craft classes, belly dance evenings, and pirate parties. The woman who runs the shop is really great and does her best to help you find just the right item. She has patiently taken tray after tray of jewelry out for me to look at. She also keeps a treasure chest next to the cash register and lets kids pick out something when they are ready to go. I highly recommend this shop.
