Just what you'd expect from the name, a variety of shishkebabs, really healthy grilled with lots of vegetables. They do takeout and it seems more suited for that. The food is excellent.
Jaxx is in a little out of the way strip mall, so you wouldn't notice it. But it's got a really cool atmosphere nonetheless. They have a salad trio (you pick 3 different kinds) that is big enough to split with someone and it is delicious. They also do togo food.
This place is always open, and obviously busier when the bars are closed. It's your typical greasy spoon, kind of looks like a Waffle House, you can see the grill, but older. Much older. Good after bar food.
We go every weekend, usually later to avoid the breakfast rush and they have the best low-cal egg scramble with veggies and a side of pancakes with sugar free syrup that is actually very good.
I love Good Eats. First, they bring out a basket of hot buttered rolls, then you can order anything from chicken fried steak to grilled chicken. They have really healthy sides and really yummy (not so healthy sides). Can't beat it.
Chuck's has great burgers fast, but not like fast food. It's set up like an old malt shop, with black and white checkered floors and bright red booth. But they also have chicken sandwiches and other fare if burgers are not your thing.
We costed replacing the window ourselves and the glass alone was going to cost us what they charged for custom cutting the glass (double paned storm windows), custom making the window strips and installation. They were there in a jiff and fixed it for $100 before we knew it. Don't use anyone else!
We stopped by with family (old) on our way out of town. If you like fried anything, I guess you are okay. But otherwise, you are screwed. Fried, and/or soaked in grease. Uck.
Cape Buffalo is a cheesy meat market with way over priced drinks. I never got the allure. We had a Christmas party there and I couldn't wait to leave, even in the company of friends.
Like it's namesake in Addison, the Cantina Laredo in Grapevine has the best happy hours (margaritas - Yum) and chips and salsa that you could live on solely. Check it out, it rocks.
