El Compadre
If you are looking for that Mexican restaurant with the band playing and crowded upbeat vibe, el Compadre won't disappoint. I'd say the food is a bit better than average but drinks are strong so it ends up being a good time! Great location on Sunset puts you in the middle of everything when you are ready to hit the town.
Diddy Riese Cookies
I don't even live in Westwood but when I find myself over there, I make a point of stopping at Diddy Riese. The ice cream sandwich is amazing and cheap and had I gone to UCLA when I went to college, I would have gained the freshman 15 in the first week. Not to be missed...
Paul Frank Store
I love Paul Frank. Especially their handbags. I bought a bag there 5 years ago, have used it religiously and ruthlessly for years and I swear it looks new. I think I'll be able to use it forever and never have to toss it.
Cafe Om
Om Cafe is relatively new to Fountain Avenue, just east of Crescent Heights but it is already a favorite among the locals. No parking on Fountain during morning and afternoon rush hours so be sure to read the signs before you park. Great ambiance, Indian decor, mellow tunes, friendly staff, usually pretty quiet. One of my favorite places to grab a tea and enjoy the free wireless!
Carrie's Pilates Plus
I've been going to Pilates Plus West Hollywood and taking Sebastien's classes for a few months and no other exercise program has more quickly and effectively changed the shape of my body - particularly my butt. You are working on reformer machines but in a class of 10 so it's almost like having personal Pilates but at a fraction of the cost. This gets RESULTS!
YogaWorks
Friendly with tons of classes - all levels throughout the day. Excellent studio for the beginner or advanced yoga devotee. The owners of the studio - Anthony and Rebecca Benenati- teach regularly as do world class guest teachers. They also offer workshops on an regular basis.
