This is a great place right in the historic train district. It is an amazing local find for breakfast. It feels like a little diner with a small town feel to it. I haven't been for any meal than breakfast, but the prices were good and so was the food and the service!
Known for their burgers. It is very dark inside with kind of a reddish tone, but adds to the experience. You have to get a burger if you go, I asked for mine medium well, but it was so dark inside I couldn't really tell that it wasn't really cooked all the way through. We waited a while, but it's definitely something you have to try if you're from the area.
Great beer selection and wild game food selection. I always get the BBQ chicken sandwich though. AND you have to get their just baked chocolate chip cookies for dessert. You'll get a whole plate of them, take them home if you're full. There is a good bar area, good restaurant area and good back patio area. A lot of alums from local high schools hang out here.
This is a great local spot. I always got the Georgia Reuben I think I was maybe called the Bloomfield Favorite? We always went during lunch when I was a senior in high school. The staff is very friendly. The seating is minimal, but this place is great for carryout too.
This place has the best Thai food I've ever had. We always get Pad Thai and Kow Pad with Chicken and get it medium spicy. The servers are always very nice and the decor is nice as well. Large portions and small prices. Great for carryout as well.
Probably the best beer selection in Ann Arbor with tons of unique beers on tap. I always get the Lineman burger and stilton fries (waffle). It's a fun chill laid back place to grab some food and a couple beers--not a super crazy get drunk place. This is the spot to be during the Ann Arbor Art fair, they have a tent outside and serve food and drinks out there.
I went to UM and we went here Friday-Sun mornings to discuss the events of the night before. The service is always a little off, but the food is great. Chicken delight is what I always get. Great chili cheese fries, good Cocacola, good lemon rice soup. It gets crowded with students but worth the wait. You can even sit outside when it's nice out. The breakfast is great too, it's a Coney so they have everything on the menu.
This place mostly known to locals and those introduced by locals is a great family-owned and managed establishment. For people who don't always order cheesesteak, get Izzy's, with extra cheese and ranch. Their veggie sandwich and turkey sandwiches are great, best ranch dressing ever. I always get the mini sandwich because the bread is better. I live in California now and crave this place. They also have great cookies.
Although slightly off-campus, the food here is worth the drive. Really great italian food for not a lot of $. I get the pear and gorgonzola salad with chicken and my mom ALWAYS gets the eggplant Parmesan. The appetizer portion is always enough. You have to get their special cappuccino, it comes with chocolate and whipped cream and brown sugar and cinnamon sticks. The tiramisu is also amazing, one of the best!
This place doesn't get too crowded but is sooo good. It is like a good New York deli right in Ann Arbor. The menu is extensive, but I always get the Georgia Reuben. We lived a couple blocks from the deli so we'd go all the time. The seating is no frills but that is kind of the appeal. There is a lot of cool UM memorabilia all over the inside.
