Yuen Lui has been our choice for portraits for many years, as they were considered to be the best. Family pictures, head shots and kids pictures, prom pics, Senior pic's, too-as we trust them.
And indeed they are still great.
The have excellent sales professionals, no high pressure "upgrades"
and they offer many fine choices for our pictures. In the late summer I've come to rely on their yearly special ($25.00 for one 8x10) and take advantage each time.
I was pressured to hurry up only once, and the headshot was awful.
It was about the resolution only, and they made things right-so no complaints here.
I give a 4 star, as they can be rushed while we're in a photo session.
I was a student at the Bikram's in Bellevue, and I loved it.The teachers are patient, kind and respectful, and there to help you-with your posing should you have a hard time like myself.
They will explain to you why Yoga can be (or is) the best work out there is for us, and it makes sense.
I leave feeling refreshed, and with more energy. You can drop in, or you can pay for a weekly session up front.Thumbs up for Bikrams Hot Yoga in Bellevue.
From everything to her European Products, way overpriced-to Sophia practically dragging me to her spa room for an "exclusive one of a kind" facial. I was there out of convenience only to pick up an eye cream. They found me one, .5 oz. for $60.00.
Sophia has trained her staff all in the manner of sales, sales, sales! with her staff. Reflexology 2 times a week is offered, facials, the "very best with her unique products", all skincare products and they do not leave you alone!
I'm a seasoned Beauty Professional with my own business, but they all scare me! I'm being watched constantly for a sales pitch! Lighten it up, Sophia. You can put to use the feeling toward your potential customers just this; make us feel like we can be comfortable-and just browse... We'll ask if we need Q's answered.
I had to see someone for my Dystonia (neck pain) and was lucky enough to be referred to Dr. Wu.She truly cares for her patients, all of them, I've seen her personal service to others. Anyway, each time I went to see her-1x a week for a year, I was truly pain free. And as we got to know one another, she heard about my family issues at the time that were very trying, so she would treat me for stress that day. This seemed like an excellent idea, and it was-with soothing music and darkness-for me a great way to relax.Michele is very compassionate and doesn't seem to recognize it in herself and it wouldn't matter to her anyway. She is there to treat her patients with thoroughness, and again, she does.BTW, I've never seen so many natural herbs in her office which she sells, so cheap! And she has products for anxiety, stress, mood lifting, and even herbs for digestive, allergies and so much more.No one will ever beat out Michelle. She's the caring professional you need ONLY for acupuncture.
AND, she does Face Lifting through acupuncture.
$600.00 for several treatments, maybe 8...
When I went to visit Daniel's, I waited for only a short time and was amazed at all of the very fine product lines they carry for hair. I bought plenty. But when I sat down with my stylist for a consultation, she didn't seem to like what I had to say. She free-styled on me, it wasn't TOO bad-but she seemed to have an attitude with no personability, and she had no time to make me feel comfortable or even welcome. It was a no talk session. At the end, it wasn't quite right and another stylist fixed me up. That part was nice, as the other was hurried and hassled for her next appointment. It was a thumbs down, I do NOT feel welcome at Daniel's.They had no idea they were working with a Specialized Beauty Consultant who works part time as a Salon and Spa Headhunter, writes reviews and has her own referral business as part of what I offer my clients. Excellence in referrals only. No dice with Daniel's.
I needed a facial (every 6 weeks) and as a Beauty Consultant I know where to go for the best price at all times. However, because I needed one ASAP I called InSpa in Sammamish, a franchise. I usually go to independent Holistic or European Spa's, and love the essential oil treatments, and more. It's fair to say I'm a bit of a snob....Well what a surprise at InSpa! I received their Signature Facial and it was so lovely. I had the good luck of having their top facialist (Lindsay Reddy) who gave to me almost the very best facial I've ever had.Warm lotions, heated beds, amazing warm oils for the face, top notch massage for my face-along with an arm and hand treatment, special treatment for the neck and Decollette' with a mask made especially for my skin only. This is a top notch spa, and I'm not easy to please as I've been to others who were amazing, but this will be my spa of choice from now on.The aesthetician recommended every 6 weeks to come in for their Classic Facial, which is an in between treatment to keep up with for your face for optimum look and glow for the skin, ($40.00) for 1/2 hour. Then 6 weeks later come back (as you can) for the Signature facial ($74.00).Because taking care of the face is so important for clarity, glow and refinement, I will be back in 6 weeks and proceed from there. When making an appointment at any of the InSpa locations, always ask for the top facialist. And if they say they're all good, ask for Lindsay. She works in Factoria on Fridays only, and at the Sammamish location Monday through Wednesday. You will NOT be disappointed. Thumbs up! No Tipping Policy.
This staff is highly trained and you can tell! They are an ecclectic bunch, ready to do what you like. Truly they are hair artists.
I've been there 3 times, and I'm always happy. My daughter once for prom. And so are the other women who wait for their services (yes, they work with all genders) but my friends have gone in for a new me thing, and they get exactly what they want with great advice from these stylists. They are the ones to see if you want a funky or classic look. And I would ask at appointment time who's great at what...this is a hard question for this salon...they are all awesome and indeed have a following. So book early.
They retail Bumble & Bumble
Trust me on this, stop by on Stewart in the Pike Place area.Visit this cute store. Their clothes are fun, trendy, chic, and shoes are sold, cute too. What I love as a consummate shopper (I've been everywhere it seems, for one of a kind items) is that I can find one of a kind scarves, purses (good selection always) and their baubles are of mostly costume, and with very cute and inexpensive items and accessories. They have 3 locations in our area and there seems, or is, always something to find, admire, buy, try on. No sales pressure, with professional young staff. Fun store. Only a 4 rating, they're so small-the apparel, it seems the clothes are designed for small framed women mainly.
I hate to write such awful (to me anyway) reviews about a salon, but I've been in the same industry as they-and I am a professional Head Hunter for Seattle Salons. I never get my hair (or rarely) done at the same place twice. It's part of what I have to offer my own clients in terms of best referrals for their locale, or not. And Salon Suede, or Suede- who was voted "best style" by Amy for 2007, and was whom I wanted to see. I have found out, however-that Amy employs young employee's that made it very clear to me over the phone they were more than just a business, they are a HUGE EGO BASED Salon.I had to cancel my hair appointment, with a reschedule in mind naturally, as a situation arose 2 days earlier and I knew I had to call, to re-schedule my appointment and cancel the one I had at the same time. When I called 2 days in advance to reschedule, they had an answering service that left no place to leave a general message.Bad practice number one. And secondly when I did make a connection on Tuesday with a receptionist I was treated more rudely than any other salon I've been too, honestly! Which is why I'm sorry to write the negatives-but word of mouth is how we become really great- and all reviews must be true. This salon needs a reality check. When I said I was unable to make the appointment (curt hello BTW) the female, young obviously! immediately chastised me for not giving 24 hours notice and that I could be charged half price next time. I was at 21 hours. Why so upset?Very bad. And just how could have the Salons hand reached into my pocketbook? Interesting business practice and warning, too- and about the most unpopular one that will not give them the clients they WANT. I will tell you they are very eager that you must come to THEIR salon (don't), yet no reminder calls like other salons. She not once asked if I wanted to reschedule and got off the phone pretty fast. She waited until after my apology...which was very diplomatic. But when you call, friends, remember this-they do NOT tell you about their 24 cancellation, very important, so remember! I wouldn't. And many people never do call-they no show, the nature of the beast in salons. Their strategy is to bite you in the end if you do not show up, or give 24 hours advance for a cut-half price. Go somewhere else! I will never say reschedule with Suede-as they've lost their sense of this great place called Seattle. So many great salons.Try Salon Blast, they won the Seattle Hair Salon for Seattle for 2008. Color & Style Pro's.
You must try Betty Stories Holistict Facials. She is hands down a professional in her product knowledge and it was chosen carefully, the Jurlique skincare, which is not easy to find. The relaxation from Betty with essential oils, mists and even the facial massage, was unbeatable. You must be a full fledged member, only after intensive training- to obtain or use the delicious Jurlique products in your business.Yes, holistic facials are almost number one for me to treat my skin, as the oils in Jurlique are actually small enough to absorb into the skin (collagen creams? Bah! They don't penetrate for healing treatments-our molecules are too large), except for 5% of the population. That being said; this to me means this is a perfect facial, according to your skin type. The oils and properties are healing just for you! You'll see & feel immediately the results. The one great facial you had hoped for. There are oils for treatments to be used on all skin types, this would be great for men, too, of course...I sure wish Betty lived next door.
Treat your skin to par excellence in your quest for feeling beautiful!
