They are NOT 'management consultants', they offer topnotch skin care & beauty treatments.
I had a very good, though pricey facial here, with natural products in a private room. What they seem to specialize in is beauty treatments
Most of the clients seem to be getting laser facial treatments to get rid of age spots, facial peels, Botox & Juvaderm injections.
They also do laser hair removal... all of it is expensive.
Be prepared to spend a lot of money for their services, but there is NO pressure.
My favorite beauty supply store in Los Angeles.
Low on attitude, great selection of high end skin care lines (Dr. Brandt, Yon-Ka, Murad) with cosmetologists on staff who can actually answer questions.
Great prices on makeup for personal & professional.
Huge range of shampoos at good prices.
Staff cosmetologists can advise you on hair color products. They stock hair coloring products for the professional colorist too.
Dr. Jonathan Macy is the primary ophthalmologist at Macy Eye Center... if you want a thorough eye exam, including dilation of your pupils to screen for macular degeneration & a pressure test to screen for glaucoma, then you need to go to an ophthalmologist, not an optometrist.
Dr. Macy gives a patient thorough exam. He is a board certified ophthalmologist who also does Lasik (vision correction).
Macy Eye Center also has a fantastic range of designer frames if you're looking for high fashion frames they carry Dolce & Gabana, Armani, Dior, etc. The kinds of frames favored by the stars. Expensive, but top quality.
Real Russian women cosmetologists offer European skin care at a reasonable price... facials, beauty treatments, waxing.
Private cubicles, very clean... lower prices than many of the Vietnamese owned waxing salons.
Marina's is located in the same mini-mall as The Subway & Starbuck's at the NE corner of Laurel Canyon & Riverside. They are a tiny spa in the rear of the parking lot.
These are nice folks whom I've turned to for recommendations on a dog walker (excellent).
They also stock quality pet food. They do sell Natura Pet's brands of Innova, Evo (grain-free dog & cat food that is certified organic) at a decent price... quality foods that Natura will not sell to chain stores because they cannot be properly stored, but are left in hot trucks & in warehouses for months.
Four Paws is a small store, so call to make sure your Evo or Innova food is in stock. They will also order it for you.
They do grooming also. A nice store owned/run by women who love animals.
They carry quality foods like Innova. If you want the small bite size Innova kibble for dogs or want Evo, you should call to make sure they have it in stock.
Price-wise, Rusty's Discount Pet on Ventura @ Colfax Avenue has lower prices.
Owner will order specialty dog & cat food for you.
Brother to Brother is a real barber shop that is owned by two brothers who are from Jamaica... Even though they both have heads full of real dredlocks, they know how to cut the hair & care for the skin of black men.
If you want a shave (head & face), a buzz cut, a fade, etc., the shop is very clean & the service is excellent.
All races are serviced.
They used to have a terrific, older man here who gave a good pedicure & a great leg massage by the name of "Luang"... unfortunately, he went somewhere else & I've yet to find him.
If all you want is a manicure/pedicure, they have a low price because they sill use plastic foot tubs & regular chairs (not the fancy whirlpools or massage chairs that other places in Studio City have).
I've found that the brands of nail polish they use have a tendency to chip, so I always bring my own nail polish.
They only do two coats, which, IMO, are the lighter colors, is not enough.
Dr. Gofnung is a young endocrinologist, who is up to date on the latest discoveries in endocrinology.
He has a lovely, caring bedside manner, especially for anyone who is afraid of doctors. Dr. Gofnung is very calm & gentle.
Excellent for treating thyroid problems
Dr. Paul Crane is NOT an 'osteopath' who is a world class ob/gyn. Paul is a father of 4 & he loves delivering babies & helping women through their pregnancies.
Dr. Crane is the type of doctor who takes patients' charts home & returns calls in the evening by calling you himself, saying: "This is Paul Crane calling."
He is patient, kind, gentle & he makes his patients feel that he really cares about their health.
He's a very busy doctor & due to his ob practice, be prepared for cancellations due to his having an emergency delivery & be prepared to wait a while to see him as sometimes he arrives late, due to emergencies.
