Weird Fish
Before coming here I had read some bad reviews of the restaurant, especially ones attacking the character of the restaurant more than the food. I'm glad we decided to make our own conclusions and have dinner here. I was so pleasantly surprised. Three of us split 5 dishes and all were soooo good. We had the civeche, calamari, fish tacos, some deep friend pickles, and fries. The ceviche was okay, but I think thats more because I'm peruvian so I have high standards for my ceviche. The deep friend pickles [forgot name] and calamari was AMAZING!!! we didn't have desert because we decided to go to the bakery next door for treats. Our server was so nice and adorable, I wanted to pinch her cheeks! The place is small, but why let the trendy atmosphere and close quarters ruin an exciting and delicious meal?
Paxton Gate
Oh lord, if I was a billionaire I would have gone crazy at Paxton Gate. They have so many amazing animal specimens, animals skulls, and really awesome marine specimens. I know that many sound scary, but please don't misunderstand. The store is actually geared more towards gifts I would say, and I'm sure anyone could find a gift for someone here. The items in the store can range in prices, from a buck 50 for some cute pins to hundreds of dollars for exquisite animal specimens and jewelry made by local artists. Definitely a must see if in San Francisco.
Yo Yo Restaurant
I was visiting friends in San Fran who live near Yo Yo. The whole time I couldn't get over how dark and drab the restaurant was. The walls were painted a dark blue and there was barely any lighting. Within the next couple of days I saw them painting so I have no idea what they were changing it to. Anyway, the food was overall good and fresh. I ordered sushi rolls and was satisfied. My friends got udon and their portions were HUGE! The service was excellent, and the only reason why it gets 3 stars is because of the terrible and depressing design choices.
We Be Sushi
This restaurant was awesome. The sushi was fantastic, the appetizers were amazing, and the staff was awesome. I wish I lived in San Francisco, let alone California, so I could come here all the time.
Gandhi India Restaurant
I have been coming to this restaurant for many years now and it is the preferred restaurant of my family in the devon area. The food is consistently good, as is the service and cleanliness of the restaurant. I think they remodeled it relatively recently, but it still holds the charm that brings me back every time.
Thong Thai Ltd
Its too bad the restaurant isn't designed a little fancier, because I truly believe its decor may turn people away. BUT THE FOOD IS AWESOME! Which is why I want everyone to go! I've been coming here for 9 years now, and I live deeper in the city so its a trek to come out here. I have never once been dissatisfied with my food. My favorite dish is the Kratiem chicken. In fact, its my FAVORITE thai dish in all of chicagoland. I know a family friend really enjoys their lard nar and this green soup I forget the name of. Parking is a pain in the butt, because of the lack of a lot. You basically pull in right in front of the restaurant off the street.
Blue Angel Restaurant
I've never had a bad experience at Blue Angel. Like the title states, there are other diners out there that I prefer, but this one is still quality. Very clean, including the restrooms [which is a must!] Good cup of coffee and lots of parking. Check out American Science and Surplus when you're done!
Duke's
One of my favorite spots to get Italian beef in the city. Its not fancy, not that anyone should expect a fast food joint to be, but its got the essentials. I've also had their onion rings and fries. I'd say for sure check it out if you are in the area.
Habetler Bowl
Probably my favorite bowling alley in chicago. I especially love their dollar deals on Tuesdays. I forget the exact details, but still worth it. Many nights in high school and college spent here.
Fireside Bowling Alleys
True, was once the "stage" of many musicians, and is now a regular low key bowling alley. My first experiences here were in high school, when fellow classmate performed and many in my grade turned out. In my later years I've bowled here a few times and have found that I do prefer other bowling alleys. But that doesn't mean that fireside is terrible. Its just small and on the low tech end. Still a key spot if you're in the area.
