Check out superdawgs for the only drive-in experience in the city [at least I'm pretty positive there are no others]. Standard fast food and hot dogs, probably not at the cheapest price but an okay price.
My parents have been coming to Martino's since before I was born, so well over 24 years now. Over the years the quality has gone down in my opinion, for example I often find that the chicken legs in my dinner are tiny and almost a joke. But I love love love their chicken vesuvio and chicken oreganota [I'm probably spelling these wrong, sorry!] I've had these dishes on a regular basis since I was a baby. I also remember loving their pizza, but since I haven't lived around Martino's in many years I haven't had it in a while. Their ministoni soup is also a must. The prices are more expensive than what I would want to pay for a meal, so it is definitely a rare treat to have.
My family and I have been coming here since I was a baby [24 years]. The restaurant serves an array of food, including home-cooked Jewish standards like my favorite matza ball soup!!! Its always been a tradition to come to Whats cooking on a rainy day and enjoy a hot bowl of matza ball. They also serve American favorites like burgers, fries, and much more!
Unfortunately my mom and I moved out of the 'hood a couple years ago, but I make sure I get my Max's fix whenever I can. They are probably my favorite place to get italian beef sandwiches. They also are one of my favorite places to get a chocolate milkshake [I'm really picky about my milkshakes]. I HIGHLY recommend this restaurant!
I have only had one experience there, but my friends agreed with me when I said that there were way better diners in town. I know many people who work in the area and frequent the restaurant who say that its ok, so I would have given it 3 stars if it weren't for their opinions.
I've been here a few times during the lunch rush and I was pretty impressed with how quickly I got my food and how delicious it was. I ordered plain old pad-thai, but it was sooo good. My friend ordered a spinach noodle dish and I wasn't too crazy about it. Like the title says, Thai bowl gives pretty good portion sizes at a decent price, plus quick service!
One of my top choices for lunch in Champaign/Urbana. That's probably because I'm a really picky eater and you can make your pizza, pasta, or salad just the way you like it. The prices aren't the best, which is why they lost a star.
This place was one of my staples when in college. They have great gyros and fantastic vegetarian chili! The staff was always friendly and they have jazz nights too!
I had only been here a couple of times throughout college, but this was a great lounge and they have hookahs too! Kinda dark for the most part, but probably one of the best lounges in the area.
Aroma is on the top of my list of Champaign/Urbana coffee shops. The tables are for the most part on the smaller side, so group efforts might be difficult. The staff is always great and the food and drinks are excellent!
