This was one of my favorite coffee shops to study at while in college. Its kind of small and kind of dark, but the coffee drinks definitely make it worth while.
I'm pretty sure most Chicagoans agree that this restaurant is fantastic! They have so many options here and reasonable prices. They also make great bubble tea drinks...the almond milk tea is my favorite. This location is pretty cramped, but totally worth it.
I'm pretty sure most Chicagoans agree that this restaurant is fantastic! They have so many options here and reasonable prices. Oh lord I was here so many times during high school. Great fast food and a pretty good price. They also have bar, which I have never really taken advantage of. The staff was always great despite having so many of us loud and crazy kids. If you are in the area you should check it out.
I often went here while in high school and have been there a few times since then. I was never crazy about the food and found my experience to be the same more recently. They have pastas, salads, and sandwiches.
I have been to this restaurant a few times and every time I've gone the food and service was great. It is small, but I never felt that I was cramped while there. I highly recommend the eggplant parmesan.
I have been coming here with my family for who knows how many years. This is the best grocery store to get your [my] favorites like pocky, kimchi, those gummy candies I forget the name of, and MUCH MUCH MUCH more!!! They have everything, including the largest selection of kimchi I've ever seen at a store and other household goodies like tupperware made of glass and really good rice-makers. I HIGHLY recommend this store and support local businesses!
The one experience that I had here last summer was not the best, and despite my boyfriend's certainty that it was the one staff member, I will not go back there. The staff member who handled my bike issues was a jerk and I felt that he acted this way because I didn't have a fancy bike or because I'm not a typical "biker". Granted, this is all speculation and my boyfriend swears that it is only this one staff member who acts like that. So, I would suggest you check them out and decide for yourself!
I took my bike to Uptown when I had a problem with it and I thought I maybe needed a bike tune-up. I'm pretty bike-ignorant, and I was kinda worried that the staff would be jerks or that they would rip me off. Not sure if I got ripped off, but they told me what the issues were and gave me options! I really liked that they laid out my options, instead of just saying you must do this or nothing at all. They were also super nice and didn't make me feel bad for being bike-ignorant. I guess there was an issue with my bike that needed to looked over by the senior bike repair person and that also made me feel like my bike was in the right hands. Out of all my bike shop experiences, this was the best and this place did everything right. I will for sure come back here.
I 100% support what this organization/business does. They take used bikes and used bike parts, fix them up, and resell them locally and internationally. I was able to find a road bike for $60, which I thought at the time was surprisingly cheap and I have a theory as to why. I had some vearing problems so I took it to a local bike shop and they said my bike had been in a head on accident. Either working bikes didn't know when they sold it to me or they did know, but i guess I'll never know. They point is the place is staffed by volunteers, so that may affect the level of work that has been done on your bike [this is what I've been told by many people]. When the time comes I will for sure come back here, but I will bring one of my nerdy bike friends to help me out.
