looking for a travel agent for japan? JTB! this company is all over japan so you should come here for help. you can get your JR pass and Studio Ghibli Museum tickets here! the staff are friendly and will have some maps too!
this store has many asian/asian american stuff; in addition to many random things as well. you definitely can't place or label or lump giant robot into a category. toys, magazines, books, dvds, t-shirts, bags, hip-hop, indie rock, skaters, bicyclists, etc. the one in SF and LA are small too, but NY is probably the smallest. and very off-the-beaten-path. you'll have to go searching for this place. i get confused about what this place is all about, especially since i am asian american. the galleries are nice though. though they do recycle the artists/their friends. . .
this place can be found in most malls. the food is good. you get a lot, and you should because it's a bit pricey. if you are at a mall, you should check this place out. you also don't have to get the bbq meat, but if you don't you're losing out on some good tasting food.
there are more than one in the city and this one is alright. the food is standard americana burgers and fries. nothing about this place stands out. good atmosphere, fun environment. you might be lucky enough to get a working table jukebox. overall, it's okay. nothing fancy.
green apple books currently have 3 locations. the bookstore, the annex (music, dvds, magazines and books) and the warehouse. the bookstore itself is good, always crowded. the annex has a nice selection of magazines and the warehouse is a warehouse (a bit overwhelming). all in all, nice places to hang out if you have a free afternoon.
this place has great appetizers and a long list of rolls. if you like vinegar-y foods, then try the cucumber salad. the sesame seeds add a nice touch. the service is good, the food is good and watching the sushi chefs are fun as well!
this is another place called mifune, except not don. this place is okay. the food is alright, typical japanese menu. not the place for noodles. if you feel like japanese, come here.
get great hawaiian fast food here! there are small and large portions. loco moco and hawaiian macaroni salad are delicious! this is a chain, but it is well worth the trip to eat here. price is good and if you are lucky enough, your zippys will also have donuts too!
this is a great place to get a burger. a hint from japan! this is a chain burger place first started in japan. the menu is unique and side dishes consistent of not only your typical fries, but also probably a salad too! price is good too!
i would have to say that this place is one of the original places to get a boba drink. my favorite is the milk tea coffee. the ice is crushed so it adds a nice foam and texture to the drink. plus this place has candy and other asian delights. the price is good too. so if you're in the neighborhood, check it out!
