Jonathan Beach Club
Having a special event here is fabulous. It's right on the beach and the food is fairly good. They have all you need to make for a fun party. It's a bit pricey and the staff attentiveness varies, though.
Fitness By The Sea
I have 2 kids, a boy and a girl, and it's nearly impossible to get them to agree on anything, yet Fitness by the Sea is the one thing they agree on -- they can't wait until summer so they can go again. They get to spend their days on the beach doing all sorts of beach activities, but if they're not up for sand castles or surfing, there's gymnastics, sing-alongs, arts & crafts -- you name it. For all they do there, it's a bargain, as far as West LA summer camps go. Their staff is so friendly and fun -- the kids love them! I don't know how they do it.
Fresh Corn Grill
This is the most delicious, freshly grilled Mexican food in LA. The menu has a lot of variety, from amazing salads to salmon dinners, and all of it is wonderful. I've had them cater some of my smaller events and the response has always been fabulous. I've also been to other parties in West LA where their food has been served, and the comments have always been "Where did you get this food? It's delicious!" This is a small restaurant, and lunch is a bit pricey, but if you want to treat yourself, it's worth it!
Baja Bud's
My family and I love Baja Buds! We eat there at least once a week! Their food is fresh -- made right before your eyes according to how you want it -- and it's fast! Their meat & fish is fire grilled and healthy, all their side ingredients are freshly made and delicious, and their staff -- many of whom have worked there for all the years I've been going there -- are friendly and remember you. Their prices are fantastic too. I can feed my family of four for dinner for under $25. I would definitely recommend it!
Eyesite
The office is clean, well decorated, filled with designer furniture and eyewear, and the staff, which changes often, is brisk and friendly. However, the charges for their services are steep and they seem to have a lot of gizmos that the assitant -- not the doctor -- makes you take part in that you end up seeing on your bill which your insurance doesn't cover. The doctor spends a lot of time with you, though, and is patient at answering questions, but after going there for several years, I realized I could get just as good care somewhere else without all the expensive gizmos, designer accoutrements and costly parking.
Tender Loving Care Pet Grooming
I've been taking my dogs there for more than 12 years and every time they take expert care of them. They even remembered my dogs when they pass away -- that's how much they care. Their prices are comparable to others in the area, but I like them because of the personalized service and my ability to get my dogs in for a bath practically whenever I need to. They also have pickup and delivery, which is nice.
Diddy Riese Cookies
I take my kids to Diddy's at least twice a month. When I have a party or something & I need something sweet, I pick up a couple dozen Diddy's. They are the most delicious cookies around -- and they are a great value. Five dozen for less than $20 -- can't beat it. My kids especially love the ice cream sandwiches between 2 of their favorite cookies for just a buck!
Jamaica's Cakes
I've both ordered from Jamaica's and have been to parties where they have had their cakes and every time what I've had has been delicious and unique. Their staff is helpful and friendly and were able to get me what I wanted in a short period of time. I would definitely recommend them!
