Restaurant has nice ambiance and it could be very busy. However, I do not understand how this overloaded with sauce deep pizza got so many great reviews. It looks like somebody left if for a few hours outside so all ingredients are melted together in one messy mold. It looks and taste much different than any other very known places in Chicago.
One of about 10 locally owned Italian style franchise restaurants. Good and dependent quality of food with friendly stuff and reasonable prices. Huge portions as you could expect in such places, but it is not gourmet eating.
The food here is very good quality for such a place.Tasty and freshly made Thai noodle dishes. Very convenient take-out option, also online.
Classy old Vienna style coffee house with home made pastries and torts.
To appreciate coffee in full you can not go wrong with Cafe Melange with silver plate and other items. Add to this great desserts like: Vienna Torte, Dobos Torte or Esterhazy and you can almost feel like being in Vienna.
For lighter taste try Apfel or Topfen, sweet cheese strudel. Wide tea and coffee selection, a welcoming atmosphere and friendly staff make it a great place to stop.
Very helpful staff and owner. Very small place loaded with books, board games and comics. Even if you are not comic fun this is a place to visit at once. Beware, on weekends, this place is full sometimes.
Good place for a breakfast but nothing special I do not think that much is left from Swedish origin apart from some menu names.
Time to upgrade food for more fresher and better quality ingredients. The place could be noisy and crowded.
Huge portions. If you do not have high expectations you will do fine here.
Great local hardware store with long time working staff. Very helpful and knowledgeable. The staff will show you various options at various price points - the quick fix or the long term solution. Nice selection of items & an old style feel.
What a find. By the way it is really close to the Bittersweet Pastry shop
I went to this place to get my brake pads changed based on referral from my friend. I also asked them to diagnose problem with drive shifting. They did computer tests and they told me to go the dealer, as my transmission was still under warranty. They did not charge me for this. Very quick service and VERY reasonable prices. After one hour I was out.
This place is old vintage Chicago style, Austrian coffee house.
They play sometimes classical music on weekends. Very nice
outdoor dining garden. Very cute service with dressed ladies service tea.
However, quality of food is not top notch. Pastries have too much look and taste of offerings from your local big chain stores.
For these prices we should expect better products nowadays.
As mentioned before they bake and serve short listed but good fresh lunch. I like order half and half special for lunch. It is a soup plus half size of salad or sandwich. Croissants are one of the best in Chicago. They do not have french pastries.
They also have breads from a few top Chicago bakeries.
For those complaining about prices, Eat less but better food!!.
