I went here for a pre-wedding party for my sister. We had a group of 15 or so people and rented out one of their karaoke rooms. We ordered food and sang for a couple hours. We had a blast! The karaoke was fun and private... The cooks in the kitchen were right below us and could probably hear everything. I would definitely go back here again, and the price isn't too bad if you split up the karaoke room rental between a bunch of people!
Q-Zar
Qzar is a great place to bring young guys for a party or for just a fun outing. If you're a chaperoning adult, you can play too... the laser tag is actually a ton of fun! Make sure no one's epileptic though - the strobe lights inside were dizzying even for me.
Badayori Restaurant
My family loves this place! We go here for a lot of birthdays or special occasions. They have a great selection of sushi, and they also have a hibachi chef and a crepe bar. There's plenty of seating (we usually push together 5 or so tables for big groups). They present the food really well and the staff is always nice. I recommend this place to anyone!
Bible Book Store
I stumbled upon this nice little bookstore and tried to get a Spanish/English Bible for a friend. They didn't have many options, though that was to be expected with such a small place. The person working was very friendly and chatted with us a bit. I would purchase Bibles and books here over going to the larger Christian bookstore chains.
Nalley Infiniti Decatur
I took my Nissan Sentra here to get the trunk sealed because it was leaking. They took a look at it and said that it wasn't just the gasket, but they also had to seal the housing for the taillights... That whole process was pricey, of course. The guys did a great job though, and the customer service was exceptional. I'd go back here for service for things I can't get repaired elsewhere, but the cost is too high to do regular maintenance things at dealership prices.
Safe Lock & Key Co
I got locked out of my car and called this company to help me out. Within 10 minutes the guy was there and popped the lock in maybe 10 seconds flat. Too bad it was really expensive!
Grandpa Attic
This is a great second-hand furniture store where you can find some great stuff if you're willing to sift through the junk. I got a decent table that lasted me a couple years in a college dorm room.
Robert Noble Architect
I met with Robert Noble to do an estimate on a project. He personally walked through the property with me and gave me an honest appraisal of the work that needed to be done. He was willing to discount their architectural services for our non-profit organization, yet he was realistic in his pricing and expectations. I would recommend working with this firm.
Cups Coffee Cafe
I liked my visit to cups. I got to hang out there for a while and not feel pressured to leave. They've got a lot of art on the walls, and that seems to be a focus for them. The coffee was decent. The cafe overall was neat and nice looking. I would go here more often if I lived in Athens.
Choo Choo
Don't let the name fool you... this is no train depot. Choo Choo has some great Asian cuisine. Some friends and I split an order of edamame and each went for separate dishes. Everything tasted great! It looks like they do a lot of takeout though, and there were a ton of young people when we were there. The booths were all a little dirty - probably because they were so busy. I'd go back here to eat again.
