My husband and I checked out this Italian place in Burien. The food was great but the atmosphere is a little dark for my taste. Fine service, fine menu, fine wine. Everything was okay but it hasn't seemed to draw us back.
Mi Rak is a Korean restaurant filled with Korean customers. There are plenty of regular menu items but I always go for the Korean Barbecue. Order the meat and cook it on the grill at the table. One entree is good for two but you have to order two items for the barbecue so it's good to go with more than two. The service is not great and the furnishings aren't great but the BBQ is to die for.
This is a surprising hole-in-the wall cafe serving all sorts of Vietnamese and Asian food. The teriyaki is good but the best is the Pho noodle soup. Nice big bowls. You pick the meat (chicken, beef, pork, etc.). The soup comes with fresh lime, basil, sprouts and peppers on the side and there are sauces on the table to help flavor the soup. Wear a sweatshirt as the restaurant is not too warm but you'll heat up soon with the soup. Delicious and satisfying!
Half Price books is an awesome place to browse. Great selection of new and used books for way less, so you can read way more. They don't have every book on earth but there are all kinds of surprises to be found.
I've been to Verrazano's twice, once for a spiffy dinner with my husband and once for a graduation party. The food has been excellent and the view of Puget Sound spectacular but the prices were equally stunning. I recommend this for a special occasion.
Char Schulz has been our insurance agent for years. We always have lots of requirements for certification of additional insureds and they always are able to handle our special requests in a timely manner.
My friend and I discovered the Chartres Cafe by accident and it was a great spot to have dinner before visiting Preservation Hall. The front area is a nice bar and open air seating and the back dining room is quiet, more elegant dining. Delicious food and wine from a reasonably priced menu. I look forward to going back the next time I'm in New Orleans.
This restaurant was a fun mix of locals and visitors enjoying great New Orleans food. I had a meatloaf sandwich that was awesome and my friend had the "roast beef debris." The decor was unique artwork by a local artist in bright colors and good spirit. Wish I'd known about the seating outside. A fun place to go for the whole family.
I love Dessert & Things. Newly opened this year, it's a quaint little coffee shop with a mix of tables, sofas, and bar stools. Great pastries and desserts to go with the coffee. With the wifi access, it's a nice place for meetings. They are just adding real food items to the menu but these are catered in. Can't wait until the employees get fully trained and the food menu is a little deeper. Love the atmosphere!
Finally, some place in an airport that has reasonable prices! I love the chowder combination with fish-n-chips. Located in the "Pacific Place" eating area, there is good seating and fun shopping. Just wish it were outside security so I could eat there anytime.
