I used 1 Stop Dvd Duplication to take our old reel home movies my dad shot when we were kids and have them transfer that onto DVDs for my mom. I knew about this service, but didn't know where to go. I found them through the guys at work who told me about them and how good they were. I was so thrilled by their job, I had them make sets for all of my brothers. Everyone thought it was the best gift ever.
Hoogasian Flowers is one of my favorite florists up here. They're always so pleasant on the phone, they always follow up and they always create the most beautiful arrangements. We have to rotate the florists that we use, but secretly, Hoogasian's is my fave.
We tried to work a deal with Bravura to do a specialty gift basket for our promotion, but they were unable to deliver for us. I had seen examples of their work and thought they would have been a good fit for us, but they just weren't equipped to handle our order.
One Half is a great store for browsing and buying books. My mom likes coming here when she comes up for a visit. It's easy to spend a lot of money in there for things you didn't know you needed. They're very reasonably priced, so the money you spend just seems to add up with each visit.
We had to get some authentic looking Chinese accessories for a layout we were doing. Getting the paper lanterns and placemats wasn't a problem, but I needed bento boxes, chopsticks and saki cups. Our editor sent me to Mercury Unison to pick up everything we needed. Thank goodness she knew about this place. They had everything we needed plus so much more that really made the layout pop.
While exploring with my aunt and uncle, we found the Grant Arts & Gift Center. My aunt thought it was an antique store; I wasn't sure what to make out of it. It had some ivory pieces and some brass pieces on display that looked questionable to me. My aunt walked in and looked around and came out saying their prices were off the chart. I'm not sure the ivory was real or if it's even legal to sell.
I was happy with the knock off bags I found at Fashion Bags & Gifts. They don't mark things as being knock offs, but come on - it's obvious when you look at them. I'm not complaining one bit. I've picked up a couple of bags and accessories there I get compliments on every day.
We've used Artland pieces for our at home features pieces. Their tableware, especially their colorful glasses and vases make the perfect compliment when you're trying to get the perfect shot. I was given an Artland barware set that looks great set out. I haven't actually used it yet, but it looks great out as a decoration. It's got great lines, which is the signature of all the Artland pieces.
I'm considered to be the 'cool' aunt in the family. When I took my 16 year old nephew to S F Rock Posters & Collectible to look around, my status became even cooler in his eyes. This is an incredible place that's got every type of rock and roll paraphernalia any teenager would love. I couldn't bear to rush him through this shop, he was in awe. I let him spend as much time as he liked and got a kick out of watching him talk to the guys in the shop and just wander at will.
Oh Lordy! I had no idea where the girls were taking me when we landed on the doorstop of Rock Hard! Holy cow! This is an adult novelty store. I admit to not having had the need to be in one for quite some time and was greeted by a lot of in your face novelties of an adult nature. I'm sure my face was beet red, but the girls I was with shopped to their hearts delight. Every time I turned around, it was kind of, 'hello, look at me' displays. Yikes!
