You have to SEE it to really get it- go visit Montessori School of Raleigh to see the wonder of modern Montessori education. Montessori kids learn "the basics" and much, much, much more. The "freedom in a framework" means that they work at their own pace, but teachers carefully monitor them behind the scenes, making sure each student is learning everything he/she needs to know. In addition to super-strong academics, kids benefit from a nurturing, safe, low-stress environment, strong extra-curriculars (art, music, PE during the day, and wonderful afterschool offerings as well), phenomenal teachers with extremely low turnover... I could go on all day about the benefits of MSR. It's NOT what you think- check it out- see the Elementary classroom at work, and compare it to a "traditional classroom." Judge for yourself! It has been a true gift and blessing for all 3 of my children, each of whom is very different in terms of strengths, weaknesses, and personalities. All kids deserve a Montessori education! The website will give you some insight- www.msr.org; but again, you have to spend time in a classroom to really get an idea. I love MSR!
For some types of learners, Ravenscroft is terrific. The extracurriculars are phenomenal (music, arts, PE), and the campus resources are undeniably outstanding. For outside-the-norm type learners (either on the gifted end of the spectrum or on the challenged end of the spectrum) we did not find they had resources in the lower school to help our kids.
laser hair removal- minimal pain, very thorough! slightly more expensive than competitors i researched but worth it because they were much quicker and better.
My daughter took classes here for 2 years, and was on the team for 1 year. We loved the coaches/teachers, but had negative experiences with the owner and office staff. The gym was extraordinarily crowded to the detriment of the kids. Recommend looking elsewhere.
Dr. Azzi is everything a doctor should be- intelligent, knowledgable, personable, caring, compassionate, even funny! He is a phenomenal diagnostician- asking thoughtful questions, listening carefully, and taking time to consider multiple ideas before jumping to a quick conclusion. At office visits, staff is friendly, waiting time is less than 10 minutes (3 visits in a row!), and there is a lab conveniently in the office. Dr. Azzi is conscientious about follow-up (both called to notify me of lab results AND put copies of the results in the mail for me). Dr. Azzi is terrific and I feel very lucky that he is my endocrinologist. I recommend him very highly!
All three of my kids (now ages 9,7, and 2) love going to the dentist (no lie!) because Dr. Dave is so cool and the office is so much fun. The hygienists couldn't possibly be friendlier, and put the kids at ease. So many touches add up to make the experience positive- a beautiful, warmly decorated office with an ocean theme (and great games in the waiting room), sunglasses for the kids to wear, etc. No fear here. Parents ARE allowed back- (many dentists do not allow this) this is a big plus if your kids are anxious in any way. Parents and kids have a pleasant experience, get great care... what more could you ask for?
Dr. Milazzo loves his patients, and is always willing to go the extra mile for them. He is a fantastic pediatric cardiologist and we are so lucky to have him here in Raleigh!
I had a very negative experience at this office, felt rushed by clinicians and felt that office staff were unnecessarily unkind and rude. Much happier elsewhere.
As a physician myself, married to another physician, I am very, very picky about doctors. Dr. Monica Oei at this practice exceeds all of my expectations. Her knowledge and medical decision-making are top-notch, but even more importantly (from my point of view, especially as I have been very ill recently), she is compassionate, considerate, kind, and treats patients and family members with respect. In contrast to many other physician encounters I have had in the past year, my visits with Dr. Oei are unhurried; she takes time to listen carefully, asks thoughtful questions, does an appropriately complete exam, and formulates a plan. She then takes time to discuss the plan with me and answer my questions. Dr. Oei is a gem- if you value "real" medicine, as opposed to rushed, 5 minute encounters where you're shouting questions as the doctor flees down the hall at the end of the visit, see Dr. Oei. She really cares, and it shows. Add that to her excellent training and knowledge and you will see why I am so lucky she is my physician!
