What I like best about the Tannery House of Leathers is that the people who work here are very eager to help you find the shoe that you want. I have been here numerous times and they are almost too helpful in assisting you find what you want in the size that you want. I suspect they work on commision. Such service is hard to find in NYC and appreciated. The shoes are usually name brands at bargain prices. I have always been able to find something cute to go with whatever outfit I need shoes for. Great place!
I have spent a lot of time working with shady brokers. I met a great one here at Ardor named Blake Ginther. He was honest, patient, and took me to see the sort of apartments I wanted in the price range I wanted. I literally took the second apartment he showed me as it was perfect. There is a steep broker fee, but that is expected it in NYC.
I went here looking for a fancy camera to buy myself as a graduation gift. I had in mind what I was looking for. The sales people were helpful enough but seemed impatient with my questions, however, I had done a lot of research online so I knew what I was looking for and I didnt need a lot of help. Although they have a huge selection, they did not have on hand what I was looking for. I got to hold the model I wanted and got a good feel for it. I then went home and ordered it online which was better in the long run as I did not have to pay NYC or NYS taxes!
My friends went here for Lobster night. On Tuesdays it is only $20 for a whole lobster. Lobster isn't my thing. I had some sort of fish and it was delicious. The prices were very reasonable. The service was quick and friendly. I recommend this place.
Westside is a great, basic, little diner. They make really good grilled cheese and Tuna Melt. The burgers are also pretty good. The prices are reasonable and the service is good considering how busy this place is. There are tables next to huge windows that make for good people watching as you eat.
While World of Nuts is no Dylan Candy bar, it is a perfectly good place to stop for a treat. They have a decent selection of candies that you can buy according to weight. It is a little pricey but it is till nice to be able to pick and choose a few select items.
I often stop here when I just need a drink or a candy bar and I can't be bothered with the too-popular bodega next door. This place has a ton of magazines, candies, and different types of soda. I think they are more popular for buying lottery tickets. This place is adequate to get the few things you need from here. It is dark, dirty, and the people who work there seem totally indifferent to your presence. That is fine because I only want soda, not a new friend.
Irmat is a lovely store with many aisles of perfectly stocked personal care items. Need a specialty shampoo? No problem. I am sure they will have it. This place is very clean and well lit making for a nice experience. The prices are a tad high, but you pay for what you get and it is worth it.
I often stop here as I pass by for a healthy snack. They have many options for quick, easy snacks and drinks. I can count on them to have several flavors of Soy Crisps on hand or whatever herb I am curious about. There is never a line and the prices are pretty reasonable for specialty items like they sell.
Court of the Two Sisters had decent food, but very pricey. What impressed me overall, however, was the fantastic outside court area where you can sit. It was lovely and relaxing. The service was excellent. This is definitely an upscale place! I would go here again and perhaps try another dish.
