Toni and Guy employs stylists and color experts at various experience levels at different prices. If you are looking for a fun, unique look, Toni and Guy is a great place to go. They do a lot of interesting cuts and colors that may be a little less traditional but very stylish. Of course if you do want a more traditional cut, they will do what you want, but if you look at the pictures on the walls, they definitely like to be creative and different. You may need two different appointments for cut and color because different people specialize in each so the same person won't be doing both. The prices run about the same as most professional salons in the area depending on what level stylist/colorist you go to.
I had some senior pictures taken at Portrait Innovations a well as a more recent family photo. The prices are very cheap but honestly you get exactly what you pay for. You pay very little and you get very little in return. The pictures are quickly taken without much thought or preparation. Our family photos came out very dark with very little contrast. She also tried to put us on a black background when I was wearing a black shirt so I ended up looking like a floating head and arms! However, the package deal we got for the family photo was only like $15 for a bunch of sizes and prints of one picture of our choice so I guess you can't really expect anything too great for that price. You get the pictures back immediately after they are taken but unless you're just looking for a really quick half-decent photo, I would recommend going somewhere else that will actually spend some time on your pictures and actually make them look good. I wish she had at least taken the time to quickly adjust the brightness and contrast before sending the photo straight to the printer.
I love Ru Sans! It's a very fun and affordable sushi bar in a great location. The food is great and the techno music is really fun (especially techno remakes of some older songs that I grew up hearing). If you like sushi, I recommend the experience. The atmosphere is very casual and laid back so take a group of friends and have fun!
Ippolito's is one of my favorite Italian restaurants in the area. The restaurant is a little smaller and makes the restaurant feel more personal and friendly (so it seems more like a small family-owned mom and pop type of place) which I absolutely love. The way the restaurant is decorated is so cute and very well-done. The service is great, the food is great, and the prices are very reasonable. Even on Friday and Saturday nights the wait is not bad at all (much better than most other restaurants in the area). I highly recommend it!
The food and service at Canoe is incredible! The restaurant atmosphere is more high class with valet parking (although it seems a little silly with how small the parking lot is), unique menu items, fancy presentation, wonderful service, etc. It's rather expensive (our bill was about $100 for 2 people) but it's a wonderful experience if you're going out to eat for a special occasion. It's also very fun if you want to go somewhere fancy where you can dress up. The food is incredible but keep in mind that portions tend to be smaller at nicer restaurants than at your average American restaurant. We thought the portions were the perfect size but if you enjoy the huge portions of most mid-class restaurants in this area, this may not be the right choice. Also the river view is breathtaking! I highly recommend eating here for an incredible experience!
I think I liked the old location better. The new place is small and looks rather run-down and crowded but the service is amazing and I've never been happier with a cut! The cut I've been trying to get for the past year is a rather complicated pixie bob sort of cut and the person I was going to before could never get it right. I went to Phillips and Jessica cut it exactly how I wanted it! I've had 3 different people cut my hair at Phillips in the past and those are the 3 times when I was happiest with the cut. The prices are a little better than most places too! A basic dry cut is $25, but if you want it washed it's $40. This is very affordable considering a lot of places will start at about $50 unless you want a quick hack-job from a place like Great Clips. The atmosphere seems a little bit more friendly and personal than most places and the people are very nice. This is the best place I have found in the Acworth/ Kennesaw/ Dallas area. Overall, I have no complaints and I highly recommend Phillips Salon!
