When my dad died, Riverside-Nassau North provided us with a place for a calm and dignified memorial service, helped us with the "The Family of..." notes, provided shiva candles and did a wonderful job of helping us through everything in our time of need. I want to thank them again and again for helping us provide my dad the dignity and grace in passing that he lived every day.
We took in our 4-Runner because of a rattle in the rear end. They worked on it and it was fine - for 2 miles. Back we go. They worked on it again. And it was fine. This time for 2 hours. They kept on working on it, telling us that there were lots of things wrong and kept on not getting it right.
2 grand later we go to Toyota. They got it right in 3 hours. It is still working. We were going to go to small claims court with this because the Toyota people said they could prove Mavis was damaging and then fixing things (and were more than willing to go to court with us) when HUGE sickness overcame the family and we let it go.
DO NOT GO HERE FOR REPAIRS.
I have used Dr. Auerbach for literally decades. His professional skills are wonderful. He has taken my really bad mouth and slowly turned it into a healthy mouth.
I will not say it was easy or cheap, but all good things take time. Originally he did periodontal surgeries on me, but I soon learned how to properly care for my teeth.
So until I needed implants (which he did well also <VBG>), I just saw him for routine cleanings. It was always a pleasure. I feel healthier all over.
This is a good place to go for inexpensive glasses. They have a decent selection of frames to choose from. Then after you have chosen your frame, they take it and send it out. Your glasses come into the store in about 2 weeks.
So if you can wait, and if you like the frames they have there, this is a good place to go for probably the least expensive eyeglasses around.
I went to Sans Souci with a friend and her daughter when they were planning the daughter's wedding. The place is wonderful and everyone was so gracious.
If they had not opted to go into NYC for the wedding, they most likely would have chosen Sans Souci as the location is spectacular and the food is good. (We had tastings)
As a local I never thought I would patronize this boutique hotel. But comes Christmas night last year, there was no other place open for dinner than their Giraffe room. (The Giraffe is Great Neck's mascot).
The dinner was just wonderful. I am so glad we went. We have gone back a few times since and the food was just as good.
I have never seen one of the rooms so I can not comment on them but if their decor is anything like that of the restaurant, it is sophisticated and elegant.
I went to a wedding there about 2 years ago and it was lovely. The food was quite good and the setting is just wonderful. Everyone enjoyed themselves and the bride said that working with them was very easy.
And yes, there are swans at the Swan Club.
Waterworks carries the most magnificent bath fixtures anywhere. Of course the price reflects that, but their fixtures are unparalleled. The service matches. If you want it, they probably have it.
I can not begin to describe the beauty you will find here. It is worth the trip to the store just to experience it. And if you can afford it, Waterworks has what you want.
PC Richard & Son has been servicing the local (NYC, LI and NJ) area for generations. They have all the appliances you would ever need or want, at great prices. They even have "designer" appliances if you are looking to go high-end. Their prices are always competitive with the big boy chains (Circuit CIty, Best Buy) and their service is wonderful.
My interior designer told me about Silhouette. I found all the Hunter Douglas products I was looking for as well as others I didn't even know exist. I am very pleased with the quality of their staff as well as their products.
I recently found out that they had solar screens. I wish I had known this sooner as I could have used some a while ago. Now I have faded fabrics.
