A little expensive but their plants are beautiful and worth it. This is a family owned business and everyone is very nice and knowledgeable. I would not shop any where else for seasonal plants, perennials, wreaths etc. They seem to have anything you need.
This greenhouse is at the corner of Peterson Road and Rt. 60, across from Saddlebrook Farms in Grayslake.
The plants are beautiful and reasonable. The hanging plants, in the Spring, take off like a shot. They are large to begin with.
We always buy a flat of dahlias in early summer. They are beautiful and grow huge by the the beginning of August.
I really like this nursery.
Jim Renwick runs this nursery and he is one of the most knowledgeable nursery men we know. He can answer almost every question imaginable.
Jim mainly does commercial but you can go to his property in Antioch and walk the nursery to find him and can order for personal use. He will come and plant for a fee, also. His stock is in somewhat overgrown fields but he has beautiful things. Everything is grown naturally and in this area. Everything we have ever gotten from him has worked out beautifully. The plants grow at enormous rates because they are so healthy to begin with.
You may wait a while to get your bushes and trees but you can choose your own in the fields and everthing is beautiful and healthy.
We love this feed store! It carries everything from premium dog food, dog toys, cat food, horse supplies and food, pet toys, bird seed, buckets, troughs, to chemicals for gardens and help for insects and spraying trees.
It is a small store but they have everything you can think of need in a feed store. I can spend a good hour just looking around.
We are probably in the feed store at least twice a month for pet food and bully bones.
The staff is very friendly. They are willing to answer questions, order anything they can for you and will investigate answers.
Don't pass this store by.
This nursery is not bargain basement but... it is the best around the area for beautiful flowers and plants. I have never had a problem with anything I have ever bought there. They have just about everything you could want for your garden.
I like the idea that everyone is very friendly and are willing to answer any questions, even on the phone.
I have been to Burnett-Dane many times for funerals but not until recently for one of my own family members. They recently handled my Mother's funeral. They did a marvelous job.
First off, she looked beautiful. They took care of details such as asking exactly how she wore her hair and down to painting her beautiful nails the perfect color.
Phil Dane and his daughter Marcee could not have been more caring. When we met with them initially, they had everything down to an order and everything could be arranged with them (flowers, priest or pastor, cards, newspaper write-ups etc.) It was a very difficult time for us but they made all the preparations and took that worry off they family.
This funeral home will be where all of our family will be taken care of.
We have been going to Angelo's for years. They have a nice cozy bar and a restaurant that can seat possibly 60. The owners are very friendly and the service is wonderful. The food is excellent. They have the best pea soup.
We often go there for lunch. It is very pleasant and they do not rush you. The Reuben sandwich is to die for. It is served open face with a pile of fries and soup.
The people were very friendly but I felt that I did not get the attention deserved for my 45 or 60 minute appointment. They would often give me exercises to do, leave the room and close the door. A couple of times I would have to go looking for them.
We enjoy going to Scott dogs to get their hot dogs. You can have anything and everything on it. They have delicious potato soup. The bowl is large and very filling. It is good. They also have burgers, sandwiches, fries, onion rings etc. the prices are in line with all take out food.
They have a very nice eat in restaurant on the premises and also a small outdoor area with tables and umbrellas. It is a fun afternoon place to stop with good food.
Emil's is a sports bar that has been in town forever. Their food is delicious for bar food. We like the hamburgers and fries. Their pizza is the best. My favorite is the cheese and sausage. This is eat-in restaurant and bar or carry out. Reasonable prices.
