Sand Creek Golf Course
This is an executive nine hole course with mature trees. It has a drainage ditch through the course. There is a driving range, miniature golf and a pro shop. The prices are low and you get your exercise as there are no carts, walking only. This is a good family course. JanW
North Academy Veterinary Hospital
We have used this vet for many dogs, cats and a horse over 3 decades. They remodeled. The staff is excellent with the pets and the owners. Prices are quite reasonable. The doctors are excellent. JanW
Galaxy Clean-A-Drape
The things most important they have. Courteous, prompt service, excellent mending, reasonable prices, easy access off Powers and clean and neat. They specialize in military uniforms and mending, and putting on new patches when customers are promoted. JanW
Phelan Gardens
This is a gardeners paradise! They have some of the healthiest plants in town. The selection is out standing. They have vegetables, herbs, dozens of coleus and geranium varieties, indoor plants, bushes, trees and mulch. They also have a large selection of very nice yard art. Prices are a little high but the quality is excellent. JanW
Saks Coins & Stamps
This is a small shop with four rotating display cases of proof sets and some used coins. It is a one man shop. Although the shop is "messy" the owner is knowledgeable and friendly. He also puts his coins into protective covers for the customer. JanW
Wade's Cafe'
Wow! This place was a great find. They have a new location at 3504 N Academy Blvd Colorado Springs, CO 80917. Its clean, bright, open kitchen and oh my, the food is excellent. Breakfasts and lunches are served. We went at a busy time and they were putting plates out faster than 1 every 2 minutes. They have all the breakfast combos, sandwiches, soups, excellent fish and chips and daily specials. Two of us came to $12.00 plus tip! You'll like this one! JanW
Sheldon's Luncheonette
Sheldon was from the east coast and the luncheonette will definitely remind you of New York City. Tables and counter have strangers elbow to elbow. They serve breakfast and lunch. The food is excellent. The beef, pork and turkey sandwiches are piled high. They have a limited menu but everything on it is done well. JanW

This is a Mexican restaurant. It is in a historic building in Manitou Springs. There is a spring in front of the restaurant that you can sample some of the local spring water. The food is good. There are a few items that are unique. Chips, salsa and margaritas are average. Fun decor with local and tourist traffic make it a fun place to eat. JanW

This jewelry store specializes in Native American jewelry. You will find a lot of turquoise and other natural stone. They repair as well. The pieces are unique and make great gifts. JanW
Monica's Taco Shop
This is a small local operation. This is very fast, fast food. The burritos are large and very good. They make a killer breakfast burrito. Limited menu but adequate. The building is easy to get to and is clean and fast. JanW
