It's sad to review funeral homes, but I recently had a classmate pass away and I couldn't help but take note of how nice and caring the staff here seemed. There were a lot of people filing in and out and they were understanding of everything. The decorations were calm and somber, but not too depressing. I'm not sure how the arrangements were made, but I could tell this funeral home actually cares.
This Schroeder's Pharmacy is an extension of the one downtown. It has the same great service. The best part is that it is located inside the Patient's First building. So, if you are there for a doctor's appointment you can just run downstairs to get your perscription and not have to worry about dropping it off somehwere else and getting it later. The service is fast. But, unlike the other Schroeder's it is very small and there aren't many gifts (a few cards and misc. items) or extra stuff. It is very small.
pro: convenient service
con: small without many other perks
Needless to say, this store is adorned with frogs and frog gifts. They have a frog flag swaying in front of the building. They definitely "get" frog lovers. I went here because I have a friend who loves frogs and I wanted to get her something she didn't already have, and trust me, this store has it. My friend loved her gift and I accomplished my goal of getting something different to adorn her house of frogs! The prices are reasonable, pretty much something for every price range.
I found Rinderer's when I searched "gifts." While I wouldn't say Rinderer's should be considered a gift store, they are a good pharmacy. My mom always calls them (I mean always!) to ask about different things. I used them as a pharmacy for awhile, but I stopped because they close early and Walgreens is always open.
They do have some cards and a few cute things, but for an actual gift go somewhere else.
Pro: friendly, helpful staff
Con: Closes early (7ish I think)
What I love about Krakow is their deli. You can buy deli sandwiches for a great price (around $2.00 depending on what you get on it), but you can get the best deli meat here. I go out of my way to get the lemon peppered chicken and occasionally other meats. It is a gas station, and there is an actual restaurant, but I would recommend the deli inside.
My family had our first annual ornament exchange here around Christmas last year. Each person was supposed to pay for their own food. In order to save money I ordered a "tomato bisque" soup which was tomato soup with a star drawn on top in some wierd tasting ingredient. Usally I love soup, but this $8 dollar bowl of tomato soup was not worth it. If you want a filling meal worth the money, go somewhere else.
I ordered a pizza from the Doc Haus a few months ago. The pizza had several different gooey, delicious cheeses on top. This was no Domino's or Pizza Hut pizza, it was much better and not much more expensive. When I went to get my pizza there were a lot of people there who seemed to be having fun. If you want good pizza I would say try the doc haus.
I recently went here with a friend and we both got the buffet. The food was fresh even though there weren't a lot of people there. Our server was friendly and kept our drinks full while we were there. The atmosphere is nice and the Chinese decorations match the Chinese feel they want you to get while eating. You can get actual orders, but I would recommend the buffet. It's everything you want all in 1 place.
Benito's restaurant is a small restaurant nestled in the business part of Union, Mo. But don't let the location fool you, their Italian food can't be beat. I went here with a friend once and I was surprised at how good the food was. I don't usually like white sauce, but this restaurant changed that! If you want a nice, quiet meal I would say to try Benitos.
I can't say anything bad about Union Grill. The prices are good. my whole family can afford to eat there without breaking the bank. I have been here a few times and each time my entree was good.
