We stayed here for our anniversary, and I will say that we did not pay full price for our stay. The room they gave us only had a full bed and was on the front corner of the house. There was no a/c so the windows had to stay open and noise from the street was worse than I would have expected. We stayed in June and if it hadn't rained, the heat would have been extremely uncomfortable. The breakfast was decent, but we were not impressed by any of the amenities. To make matters worse, the owner called and emailed to solicit me on some business deal, which I thought was very shady. I give credit to the owners for trying to preserve this historic property, but we will not return and I would not recommend this B&B.
I also wanted to add that this place apparently has changed hands, and the cafe and restaurant the other reviewer referred to is no more.
Fat Cat's serves your standard bar type food, but it is good and the service and quality of food is good. I've never had the oysters myself, but I recommend the cheeseburger.
Although I've not had radiator or AC work done here, I have had my oil changed and car inspected. They always work quickly and aren't busy so it's great if you're in a hurry.
The food was fine but my complaint is that they do not have a non-smoking section. The whole place is smoking and the ventilation is poor. It's so smoky you can't enjoy the food, I will definitely not return.
Although I've never purchased a car here, I have had my car serviced here numerous times. They have always worked quickly and done a nice job, and the cost seems reasonable.
Although I never met her in the office, she was the lucky one on-call to deliver my baby. She was nice at first although I saw her only briefly. When it came time for the delivery, it took the nurses what seemed like an eternity to find her. After the birth, she wouldn't tell me anything that was going on, next thing I know she's stitching me up and would not offer any explaination, even when I asked. I felt completely lost, confused, and traumatized. Maybe I just caught her on a bad day, but if I ever have another baby I will strongly consider going to another practice just so I don't run the risk of meeting her in the delivery room again!
Dr. Makemson is all business, not that there's anything wrong with that, just know what you're getting. I've never had any complaints towards him or the practice in general. Appointments usually feel rushed but that's probably to be expected in any medical practice nowadays. The nurses and assistants are always friendly and helpful.
I am not sure how great any experience with an OB/GYN can be, but at least Dr. Wicker has a pleasant personality and a good bedside manner, unlike some of the other doctors at this practice. I will definitely ask for him every time I go. I always felt rushed through the appointments when I was there, but I'm sure this is a fault of the practice and no fault of his own. He did treat my high-risk pregnancy successfully and for that we are ever grateful.
This is a great place for Mexican. We eat here any time we are in town. It is more pricy than your typical Mexican fare but definitely worth it. The decor is cool too.
We stayed in the off season and got a good deal on a room. We were pleasantly surprised, this is a full-service resort hotel. It has indoor and outdoor pools, lazy rivers, hot tubs, and a diner and bar. The room was your average hotel room but it was nice. We would stay here again.
