If you are tired of partying every night and want to mix things up, go shoot some pool at Society. Bring your buddies for competition or bring your girl for a unique dating experience. Try to get a table on the bottom floor. The 2nd floor gets pretty hot. Drinks and food are available with decent prices.
Go to Mika for 30% off already cheap sushi rolls 4-8pm Thursday-Saturday. The rolls are tasty but lack creativity. Miso soup is great. Chicken bowls are huge with lots of meat and vegetables and are very well priced. Great place to get your sushi fix. All customers/couples have their pictures taken and put on the wall. A personal friendly touch.
Hidden gem away from the pb strip. Great place to watch a football game. Fun bartenders and a huge variety of beer to choose from. Some of the best wings and fries in town.
If you like good strong beer, this is your place. If you like to try new beers, this is definitely your place. Lots of San Diego microbrews. Lots of TV's. Very clean and friendly atmosphere. Pizza by the slice. Sandwiches and salads. Beers are $5 but worth it. Food is a bit pricey but expected.
Located down the street from the University of San Diego. This place is brand new, clean, fun, and is the perfect place for a light lunch. All deli sandwiches are creative, hearty, and very satisfying. Many varieties of salads are served as well. Many young and fun people can be found eating at Urbane Cafe. Prices are fair. Eat inside or out.
If you are near the University of San Diego, be sure to stop by Ryan's Cafe. Breakfast, lunch, or dinner, this hole-in-the-wall has some unique and tasty menu items to go along with your traditional cafe foods. The breakfast gyro is one of a kind, the turkey deluxe sandwich on a pita is perfect, and the chicken ceaser salad is big and flavorful. Many USD students and athletes frequent Ryan's.
If you live in Lakeside, you are a cowboy at heart, and you are looking for a small bar to have a cold and cheap beer, then this is your place. If you are not all three of those things, then it may be best to stay away. The people are friendly, the bartenders have fun, and they have karaoke. Negatives include being small, old, and not being the best singles bar in town.
The Yuma Scorpions is an independent baseball team from the Golden Baseball League. The team plays from May-August during the regular season and from February-March during the winter league. The GBL consists of many former major league players and a ton of established minor leaguers. The baseball is very competitive and the on-field entertainment is awesome for the kids. For a great seat, food, and drink, you are looking at $15-20 per person. Going to a major league game is not as intimate and will set you back at least $50 per person.
Great crowd, great variety of games and TV's, and great food options. The name says it all. About 20 different burgers to choose from and a ton off draft and bottled beers to wash your burger down with. Menu also provides Mexican food, sandwiches, and salads. Prices are fair. Service is a bit slow, but that is probably because the place is so popular. You always have a TV to watch and a drink to sip on while you are waiting however.
Three months ago I visited LIMONZ in Pacific Beach and I experienced the perfect burrito. LIMONZ has a setup similar to "Chipotle", where you get to make your own burrito. Here, the meats were tastier, the veggies and salsas more creative, and most importantly, the tortilla much bigger and more edible. The burritos are too big for most to eat and they come with a side of chips and salsa and a fountain drink. I paid $6. Can't beat it!
