Banning is a small restaurant/bar and I've had a good experience every time I've eaten there. The food is very good, the service is typically average, which isn't saying much, but it is a small-town place.
As for the reviewer who said to go to Tobies, please don't! Tobies is like a Perkins, except Perkins is better. Also, I've had horrible service every time I've eaten there. :(
I could not believe my eyes when I went to Concrete Yard Ornaments in Hugo! I was recommended here by a friend when I wanted to find something for my mother-in-law's garden for Mother's Day.
This place has everything you could ever think of and more! All kinds of animals and religious figures are available in various sizes. They also have benches and fountains available if you want to be really classy ;). You can even choose the type of finish you want on the item.
I think the pricing is very reasonable as well. We bought my M-i-L an angel sitting on a bible with a smooth silvery kind of finish and she absolutely loves it! It is front and center in her garden at home!
This place is never packed, so I was pretty skeptical of the food when I walked in. I was pleasantly surprised! Although the hoagie I had was disappointing (roast beef), I thought the pizza was outstanding!
On the other hand, the service was only ok (the order was wrong and the wrong hoagie was brought to our table. When we pointed it out, our server apologized, but did nothing to adjust our bill. We had to wait another 10 or 15 minutes for the correct order to come to our table).
There are also often coupons for this place, so be on the lookout for those! They even had a flier in the entryway with coupons for the restaurant inside, so if you had just walked it, you'd be able to get a deal!
This is my favorite basic grill and bar restaurant in the Twin City area. Everything I have ever eaten here has met or exceeded my expectations! And I've probably had about half of the menu! Some of my favorites include the chicken fajitas, the southwestern egg rolls (appetizer), and the chicken crispers (they are NOT health-friendly, but if you like battered greasy food, you'll LOVE these!).
The menu has a little bit of everything on it, and it's all done extremely well. I'd recommend this restaurant to anyone!
I recently visited this salon when the girl who had been cutting my hair at a different location moved here.
Katie Klett is my stylist, and I feel extremely comfortable with her. She always does a great job cutting and styling my hair. As a matter of fact, I am so impressed with her, that I am having her do my wedding hair and make-up! I would highly recommend her to anyone.
My fiance and I went in for a late dinner on a Friday night. The seating outside was pretty packed, so we thought we would try inside.
Our server was excellent, but it turned out he was the only server available in the room and had 14 tables by himself. He was constantly rushed, which didn't make us feel very comfortable.
The food was hit and miss. My fiance had a chicken sandwich and the creme brulee for dessert, and both were excellent. I had a philly steak sandwich with steak that was well done and chewy/tough, and vanilla cheesecake which came with a generic Hershey's chocolate-tasting sauce covering the entire cheesecake and plate. The crust was soggy from the chocolate sauce it soaked in. My meal was very disappointing.
I would go again, but I would be VERY choosy with the menu. I have a feeling that everything there is either very good, or not good enough.
