I have been a patient at this office for a few years. I usually only go for my annual check up, and anything else that might come up. Fortunately, that is not often. But I have had an occasion when I need a doctor right away, and they are always so busy it can be a few days.
This is my only complaint about this Doctor's office.
I like Michelle, the Doctor's asssistant, and all the other staff are very pleasant. Would recommend this office.
I have been buying my herbal supplements from Barbara at New Beginnings for a couple of years now. I love the Metagenics brand. She will special order anything not in stock, and it comes within a few days. Barbara is very knowledgeable if you are not quite sure what you need. She works closely with Dr. Deckert.
Massage is also available here. Recommend.
This is a large store with a huge selection of beautiful diamond and gem stone jewelry. I like to look for unique pieces, but here they cost an arm and a leg. There is selection which appeals to all income levels. The staff were very friendly and helpful, without being pushy.
Would recommend, but know your diamonds so that you know what you are buying and whether or not it is worth the price.
The Boardwalk offers arcade and games for the younger members of the family. They do great birthday parties here. The kids win tickets on the games and rides and can cash them in for prizes. Next door is the bowling alley, fun for all ages. A great way for the kids to spend an afternoon.I would highly recommend.
La Mesa is full of little antique businesses. I came upon this one after walking up the boulevard one afternoon. A small store, but packed full of interesting memorabilia and antiques.Larger pieces did not look very old. Prices were reasonable for antiques. Friendly owner. Fun to browse.
Howards has been around for a long time. I have ordered birthday cakes here, beautifully decorated in any theme you need. The home mad bread is the best, but when strawberries are in season, the strawberry tarts are great! Love the eclairs also. They are big enough to share. Recommend afternoon tea or coffee and dessert.
This is a lovely bakery. They have everything from bagels and other home made breads to a wide selection of beautiful cakes, pastries and cookies. I resited the sugar, although I did get to sample the keylime cheesecake. I bought some garlic bread although I wanted the bagels. By late afternoon, Santo says, the bagels are all gone. I need to go early morning. A small seating area seats breakfast or lunch patrons. They are open until 8p.m. Santo told me they get quite a few after dinner dessert sales. Would recommend this bakery.
I used to look everywhere for tamales for Thanksgiving and Christmas. Thank goodness I was turned on to Martha's. These are the best tamales, and I always buy a few extra to put in my freezer. Need to get your holiday order in a week or two in advance, as this place is very busy. Tamales are excellent. Recommend this place.
I always prefer a privately owned coffee shop, rather than the big chains. Actually I had a mug of tea. The tea comes in a teapot, so there is more than enough to drink, the scones and baked goods are very good. It has a great tea shop atmosphere, like something out of a European village. Highly recommend.
I have been here for breakfast. Great home style cooking. Pancakes, waffles, eggs, quite a selection. Homey feeling and the waitresses are friendly and even though they are busy do not make you feel rushed.
Reasonably priced, a good deal for a good meal.
