My Town Bakery
My Town Bakery is situated on the edge of Westfield. It is a relatively new pastry shop. It is similar to the one in Scotch Plains. I've only been here once for a snack. The employees are friendly, but the prices are still a bit on the expensive side. The cookies still have a home baked taste to them!
Recommended if you're in town and looking for a snack!
My Town Bakery
My Town Bakery is situated in the heart of Scotch Plains town. It is a good pastry shop with a good variety of cakes too. It could get expensive though. We buy here every so often there is a birthday party. Their coffee cake is really good and light. It's not too sweet. I used to buy cookies from here as a kid. They have a home baked taste to them.
Recommended if you're in town and looking for a snack!
Number 1 Chinese Restaurant
This place is so so. It's the typical chinese take out. Nothing special. I order here like once or twice a year but TCNJ's clubs order here once in a while too. It definitely doesn't compare to homecooked meals, but it gets the job done if you're hungry. It's not too expensive either.
Recommended if craving chinese food.
Jessica Martinez, PT
I used to drive my grandma here for 1 year before college. She really enjoyed the friendly people and good service. There may be a wait though. They have a big waiting area. My grandma stopped because she didn't feel like it helped, but from the people I talk to there, they felt like it made a difference in their recovery.
Recommended for a quick physical therapy and continue if it works for you.
Suriano's Shear Precision
Good haircut place, but need appointment first. I use to go here for as long as I could remember, but recently switched because I didn't like the appointment rule. The barbers are good, more of a woman's place though. There's 4 female and 1 male barber. The prices are a bit on the high side too.
Not recommended unless you have money and are willing to set up appointments.
Levinson, Paul S, Od - North Jersey Eye Care Ctr
North Jersey Eye Care Ctr is a pretty good local eye care. The workers could be a bit uptight, but they're friendly. The eye doctors are brothers and are nice too. They're pretty strict about appointments too. They work on an appointment basis, but they're willing to help on a quick fix or a quick problem.
Recommended for people close to the area.
White Diamond Restaurant
If you're looking for the occasional unhealthy burger, this is the spot for you! They serve a greasy burger, but it's pretty good. It's a very small shop on the entrance to parkway on the Clark side. It's a bit dirty inside, probably because it's a small place. Their prices aren't too expensive either! Think of this as a Johnny Rockets, but more local and yummier.
Recommended for a quick bite, but not a regular basis!
White Star Restaurant
White Star in south plainfield is a typical diner. I only eat here during labor day fireworks, if I do. It was packed because of all the firework go-ers. The service is ok at best, food is typical of American diners.
Not recommended unless you don't have much money and are starving!
EFES Restaurant
Efe's never fails to provide a yummy lunch or dinner. Their babaganoush is so good for appetizer, as well as their hummus, and other dips. Their chicken kabobs and gyros are really good too. This is an unique place and conveniently located near the train station near Rutgers' Busch campus.
Highly recommended for a fair priced lunch!
Frank's Meat Market
Frank's is a local butcher shop. You can get fresh meat there, any type you want. We sometimes get our meat here, but not too often. The prices are reasonable and the store is located in the heart of the town.
