Roots Kind Food

We ate here yesterday for the first time. I had the salad and my friend had the sandwich. The salad was delicious - just a touch of cilantro dressing that did not cover up the taste of the organic fresh vegetables. The sandwich was, apparently, delicious. This is a great place to go if you happen to be wandering ocean beach and looking for a nice outdoor setting to enjoy the OB township.

Subway

This subway has hard working employees. It's a very busy store, but they don't waste a second on idle chit chat with friends to get your food out fast. Unlike some other subways, the food is always fresh.

Pykles Plumbing Heating A/C

These guys were very helpful. We had contemplated doing some upgrades in our house. They were very helpful with information and forthcoming with prices (no hidden costs). The store, though small, has plenty of nice displays- Unlike Home Depot where you mostly get to see only the picture on the box of how something might look.

Payless Shoe Source

I had only been in the store just a minute when an assistant came over to help me. It was a busy time of the day, but she was there to help me (probably already helped the others). I found the exact shoes that my son had wanted, in the right size - which I had been unable to find for month in other stores. I was in and out of the store within a few minutes! I never get this sort of help at other Payless stores. This one is the best!

Ocean Beach People's Organic

This is a nice little grocery store. It's expensive, though. One apple cost me $1.70 the other day! The cafe upstairs, however, is great value. The food is delicious and interesting! Salads, hot food item, wraps etc - all healthy and inexpensive. It's worth going to People's just for lunch.

Albertson's

Until recently, this Albertson's used to be the only grocery store for some miles. The prices were terrible. Now that we have a "Fresh and Easy" store in competition, Albertson's has dropped a lot of its prices. But, unlike Fresh and Easy where I can run in and get something quickly, there is no such thing as getting something quickly at Albertsons. The check-out lines are always long, and the self-service chechouts are so quirky and slow that unless you just one one or two items they takes forever to use.

And, the trashy magazines that Albertson's displays at the registers are insulting, embarrassing and certainly not for children! Fresh and Easy doesn't have that stuff on display.

Target

I like this store. The prices are good and the quality is better than Walmart. The cafe is a nice place to sit and unwind, too - clean and cheap! The food section is good - has a good variety.

Home Services At Home Depot

This is a nice new store. But, typical of Home Depot, it's hard to find someone who works there! It's not like they come out and ask if they can help you. Generally, have to walk around and find someone to ask questions of! Since it's such a bit store, that tends to be a pain to do. I prefer Lowes. Everyone there wants to help you.

San Carlos Auto Service

We have taken our cars to San Carlos Auto since it first opened and have had great service. Ask to speak to Brian. They have always been very helpful, and stayed open late one time before a holiday weekend to help with an issue.
