We visited Leavenworth a year ago and stayed at this spacious lodge. The beautiful architecture, with genuine Bavarian balconies including flower boxes and recreational facilities, makes one feel like being in the mountains of Bavaria. Great place.

Bavarian Inn Restaurant
This year we visited Frankenmuth and had lunch at the Bavarian Inn. The athmosphere and food were excellent. I recommend the Bratwurst with Sauerkraut and a glass of beer (provided you are not the designated driver).
Historic Fontana Village
We have been visiting Fontana Village Resort near the Fontana Dam since the 1970s. It has changed over the years but the atmosphere is still the same: rustic cottages, modern lodge rooms and good old square dancing, along with pools and golf make it a vacation spot for the entire family. The scenery in this corner of the Smoky Mountains is great.
