We go to the Coast Guard House often when we are in RI. The service, the food, and the atmosphere are all wonderful. The prices are a little high but it is well worth it. I would recommend this restaurant.
My friends and I used to go to Acropolis late at night and it was a nice place for us to just sit and have coffee and talk. The food is good too and the prices are fair. The only draw back is that they don't take credit cards but on the other hand they do have an ATM on the premesis (the only problem is that it charges you 2 dollars evertime you get money out). I would recommend the Acropolis diner to college students in the New Haven/Hamden area.
My friends and I went on the Thunder Cat dolphin watch over the summer and it was so much fun! The dolphins were actually following in the wake of the boat so we were able to see them up close. The boat itself was fun too...it's a yellow speed boat and there are three guides who talk about the dolphins and how they live and about the sights that we're seeing during the tour. The boat does not hold a large number of people which is good because you have a lot of personal space and you are able to see all around you. I would recommend the Thunder Cat Dolphin Watch over the Silver Bullet because the Silver Bullet holds so many people that if you're sitting in the middle there is no way that you can really see the dolphins.
When my friends and I go to Wildwood every summer our first stop on the boardwalk is always Bobby D's. I don't know what it is about this arcade that we like so much but we're drawn to it like moths to a flame. I can't even tell you (I don't even want to know) how much money we have spent playing ski ball but however much it was it was SO worth it. I have very fond memories of Bobby D's and I would recommend it to any arcade lovers who are visiting or who live in Wildwood.
I have been a member of The Gym for 2 years now and I am very happy with the atmosphere and the staff. The equipment is up to date and the locker rooms and showers are always clean. What I like the most is that they play music that is pretty much neutral for everyone. When you come in and leave the desk staff is always friendly and they're helpful if you have any questions or concerns regarding the equipment or your membership. The Gym also offers many classes to its members such as Yoga, Zumba, and Spinning. The membership cost is only $20 per month. I would recommend this gym to anyone in the Bloomfield or West Hartford aread.
My friends and I have gotten several piercings and/or tattoos at A Touch of Color and we have never been disappointed. I had my cartilage and my belly ring done here and my piercer (whose name escapes me) was professional, friendly, and most importantly she was very hygenic about her work. The prices are fair when you consider the quality of the work (especially with regard to tattoos). A few of my friends have gotten tattoos here and they came out beautifully. I would recommend A Touch of Color to anyone in the New Haven/Hamden area.
Avon Kempo is an excellent martial arts studio. I do not currently attend classes here however I have had many interactions with the instructors and the students at tournaments. The instructors are supportive and knowledgable and the students are very respectful of each other and of their fellow competitors. I observed several classes while I was looking for a new martial arts school (mine closed recently) and what struck me the most was how much one on one attention the students received. I was impressed by the instructors' techniques and teaching styles with both the kids classes and the adults classes. Instruction in the use of weapons is taught at almost every belt level, which I thought was interesting. I would recommend this martial arts school to both adults, teens, and children alike. Hope this helps!!
I really like this place. I prefer to go and get ice cream here rather than at Friendlys because, for one thing, the prices are better and, for another thing, the ice cream is much much better. They have a lot of different flavors and in addition to ice cream they have slushies, popsicles, and other yummy stuff. There is also a nice, woodsy outdoor area with picnic tables where you can sit and eat. I would recommend this place to families in the Windsor Locks, Suffield, East Granby area.
My friends and family and I stop here every now and then. They have a good assortment of wine and beer which is pretty fairly priced. If you are looking for specialized or expensive wines and liqueurs then you may want to go elsewhere but if you are stopping by for a six pack or an ordinary bottle of wine then I would recommend this store.
I absolutely love this place!! They have really cool posters, smoking paraphernalia, clothes, and incense. The atmosphere in the store is relaxed and the employees are friendly and helpful. The prices are a little high but it's well worth it...everything is so unique. I would recommend this store to anyone who is into rock n roll & "hippy-type" stuff.
