Dairy Frost has good ice cream. I usually get milk shakes or some kind of blizzard treat. No matter what it is, it will cool you off on a hot summer day. I could eat ice cream all year long. There are not too many ice cream places left in Sandusky - hope they keep this one.
The building is kind of hidden - you can't see the building from the road. So you have some privacy. The hall is nice. Lay out could be a little better - but not bad. I have been to some receptions though when the chairs and tables are too close - need to stress fact that place only seats so many people so not so over crowded. Good place for receptions though. We had our wedding reception there.
When I still worked at Dorr Chevrolet, the other employees and i used to meet at Jim's Pizza Box some days for lunch. They had good food and realized we were there for lunch so kept us moving so we got back to work on time.
I have taken my family there as well. One year, we took some cub scouts to Jim's Pizza - with rolls of quarters for the games - they had a blast.
Good food, friendly service.
I used to get oxygen tanks, etc. filled for the shop (tanks for welding, etc.). They were convenient since they would come out and fill as needed. Their rental on the tanks was high - so I discontinued using them.
Dr. McMillin is a veterinarian - but he only does it part time. He is good and inexpensive. I have used him to give my dogs shots and other minor things. If your animal has something a bit more serious - he will refer you to someone else. He is very busy - he does not take appointments - sometimes you have to wait to get in. Prices inexpensive.
I usually go to Norwalk Heating when I need parts to repair my heater. They help me find what I am looking for and usually have it in stock. I also purchase my furnace filters there every year. They are helpful and friendly.
I used to buy my work boots at Hammer-Huber - they were a bit expensive but if you bought a cheap work boot - it did not last as long. They discontinued the shoe I used to get - I asked if they could order it - but they were not able to. The last person who waited on me could have been a bit nicer. They have a lot of good quality things - but a bit more expensive than some other places.
I am a baseball fan - I don't watch it as much as I used to - but I still enjoy it. I went into the Cleveland Indians Team shop about a year ago to purchase a Christmas gift for my dad - an Indian's fan. They have a lot of nice things there - only wish I could afford more of their items. I did purchase a stick on baseball that looked like it was going through your vehicle window - a novelty for my truck. Prices a bit high - but expected when it is for a pro team.
I used to work at Dorr Chevrolet. That was when Dick was still alive. He was a great person to work for. His son in law now operates the dealership. It is no longer a Chevrolet dealership - it is now Hyundai. We used to call them for Chevy parts. We still use them when we need Hyundai parts.
We used to buy a lot of parts from Midway - brakes, exhaust, etc. But they have eliminated the passenger type of parts and mainly focus on larger truck items - so we do not do as much business with them.
