Churchill's is a great pub with an English flair. The atmosphere is a bit nicer than the other area bars but they don't have a dress code. I recommend dining on the rooftop patio.
If you are looking for a more casual experience, go down to the basement. They serve the same menu as the rest of the place but in a more casual atmosphere and you won't feel out of place if you are wearing jeans.
The layout of the restaurant hasn't changed much from the days when it was a home so it gets bit awkward/crowded with waiters passing thru.
Brighter Day has a great assortment of sandwiches if you are looking for a tasty change from greasy, fast-food. They have a section of pre-made sandwiches but will also create one for you. A great assortment of healthy snacks (or organic chocolate) to wash down your sandwich.
On busy nights, it can take up to an hour to get into eat. On Cinco De Mayo, they were projecting a 4 hour wait!!
As long as you can get seated quickly, the service is good and fast. The prices are reasonable and the margaritas are delicious! The booths are nice and give you a bit of privacy in a crowded atmosphere.
Islandtree is on the lower end of all the apartment complexes clustered along Johnny Mercer on Whitemarsh. A recent change in ownership has resulted in some cleaning up of the complex but it still leaves something to be desired.
They don't have screened in porches and the windows are very small, resulting in dark apartments, particularly the living room. As a bonus, they have do fireplaces although I never heard of anyone actually using it!
Dr. McCahill is a good doctor. He is very down to earth and takes the time to address your questions.
He is an avid outdoors man so if you are into biking, running, hiking, or any physical activity, you'll quickly bond with him. He understands athletes.
This is a nice place to go if you just want to hit some balls. The owners tries to stay open year round - or as long as there isn't snow on the ground. It's the only driving range in the area that I am aware of.
This bar is a nice place to hang out and have good conversations with friends. They have comfortable seating and you can actually hear yourself think, compared to some of Ithaca's louder bars.
They are gay friendly.
One of the best (and few) places in Ithaca to go dancing. There is a large outdoor seating area, where you can enjoy nice weather or just escape the heat of the dance floor.
They are gay-friendly but all types of people are welcome. They used to have a great cheap wing night. (I think they still do but I haven't been there in awhile.)
I got my engagement ring from Reed's. They will guarantee the setting of the diamond if you buy it through them and have it checked every six months. The ring came exactly as my fiance asked for it and right on time! We are planning to buy our wedding bands there as well.
