My brother has been a patient of Dr. Gonzales for several years now. Dr. G. takes the time to listen to his patients to gain a better understanding of the whole situatiion. His staff is very attentive and show genuine concern for their patients. I first met Dr. G. when my brother was in the hospital and was impressed that he took the time as his GP to stop in and check on him after surgery.
Gleason's Grille is worth a visit. Make sure you check out the lunch specials. For me the portions are too much for just one meal, so I don't push it and plan on a to go box. My favorites include the salads and pasta dishes with bread. They are also open for dinner.
Papa Joe's is conveniently located on Lake Mary Blvd. They offer a variety of Italian and American foods, but my favorite is their pizza. You can order it by the slice or by the pie. Weekday lunchtime is a busy time, so go early or place an order to go.
My Mom insisted that she did not want a funeral service -- just cremation and private scattering of her ashes. When we called Alavon Direct Cremation Service we explained this and the staff was very understanding and did not try to sell us anything else either on the phone when the arrangements were made or when the ashes were picked up.
Our Boy Scout troop recently camped at the Florida Elks Youth Camp. The group camping area is a spacious grassy area atop a hill looking down toward a lake which provided a great view of the sunsets. The bathroom / shower facilities are very clean and well laid out.
The staff here are are very helpful and the office is conveniently located. One of the technicians did a great job adusting my son's glasses after they had been stepped on. I also use this location to fill my son's contact lens prescription. Easy in and out.
Appletons Cafe is tucked into a small business area but is worth seeking out. I have only been there for lunch, but the homestyle cooking hit the spot. It's nice to eat on the patio to get some fresh air, only if the smokers aren't there.
Smokehouse at Route 46 is located is a new complex that is not fully built out yet. The first time I visited, I was confused as to where to go once I went inside. I found myself in the dining room without having ordered. The waiters do not take your order. Once that was cleared up, I decided to sit outside on the patio. Food was delivered promptly and was good, especially the sweet potato fries, but I thought it was a little high.
The food court is great since we can select from different eateries. One of my favorites is the Greek Cafe. I have tried the wraps and salads which are probably healthier, but I love the gyros!
Maki of Japan has a good variety of entrees that are well priced. the portions are large enough to share or to have leftovers. The staff is friendly but sometimes are difficult to understand.
