There are slim pickins for really nice, good restaurants in this area. Although I don't know the area too well, I'm sure that this may be one of the few...if the only one. Everything that we ate was fabulous! Mouth-watering good. Appetizer portions were small. Their bread was so good that we wanted more! The entrees were pricey, but totally worth it and we definitely got our money's worth. Great cozy place for a date!
The food here is out of this world! One of the best restaurants I've eaten at in California. Everything we had was just delicious. And the creme brulee was the best I've ever had. Wait staff was friendly and fun. Atmosphere is cozy. Highly recommended.
I was looking for a place to camp for the night (in a tent) and wanted to stay in the Morro Bay area. They have some tent sites, which are basically just a fine gravel pad. They have great laundry facilities so I was able to do my laundry. It's located right across from the beach. They have free wifi. My only complaint was the loud neighbors at 2am for an hour and the staff did nothing about it.
There are few choices for eclectic food in this area of Mass that are open late. The food was decent, but a bit on the bland side. A bit pricey, but nice restaurant and atmosphere. Staff were ok...not overly friendly, not pushy, or rude.
I drove to Mt. Desert Island with the intentions of camping. Checked out two other campgrounds before checking out this place. Stayed for 3 nights and would have stayed longer had it not rained so much. The bathrooms are the best bathrooms I've ever seen at any campground! New and clean. The people who work at the campground are laid back and friendly and make you feel like family. The people who stay here generally seem to be friendly and talkative. And they also have free wifi at the campground. For the price, this campground is definitely worth it!
I went on a whale watch during the Acadia Birding Festival. The staff were very well knowledged on identifying most of the birds and marine mammals that we saw. They have a great eye for spotting things for everyone to see. They also make sure to take you as close as they can to see the wildlife and go to the areas where they have seen whales and other wildlife in the past.
Thurston's was the first lobster pound I had been to in Maine...and the best lobster pound! It's pricey, but their lobsters are really great! It's a laid back atmosphere overlooking the harbor. The staff and the people who frequent the place are friendly and fun! Definitely worth the visit if you're on Mount Desert Island!
This place rocks! If I have a late night sweet tooth, this is the place to go because they're open late. They typically have about 36 flavors...with about 1/3 of them being dairy-free. The flavors are always changing on a daily basis. Made with fresh ingredients. Weird, bizarre mixes that you wouldn't think would be good, but are out of this world fabulous! They will offer you a sample for whatever flavor you want to try. It's a bit pricey, but it's worth it. Seating is limited.
One of the few diners within the center city area that's open all night and serves just what you need after a night at a show or the bar. It's a diner so it's pretty much all a huge menu of comfort food. It's a bit pricey for being a diner. Great place for people watching on the late night!
This is the sister bar to Tattooed Mom's on South Street. Each are eclectic in their own way and seem to attract a somewhat different crowd. It's in the basement and dimly lit. If you go on a night when it's not crowded, you can grab a seat on the couch. Play some pool or pin ball. Beer selection is not the best, but not bad.
