The Ramada Express is actually pretty nice for Laughlin. They have some really good restaurants at awesome prices. Their Keno is really fun as well and I have seen people win a lot there. Best of all the rooms are actually quite nice and clean. Its not a great location in Laughlin, but with close proximity to everything its good for the price.
I love the Colorado Belle because of its fun architecture. They have done a couple remodels but some parts could still use a bit of work, I have never won at this casino but the play is still fun.
Nothing in Laughlin is amazing, its a quiet sleepy town (at least compared to Vegas). The Golden Nugget is a nice hotel though with a good casino for the area. They have lots of slots and adequate table games with good access to the rest of the river boardwalk.
The views from the front of the main tower are amazing, looking out over the river and off to the mountains is really great. That however is about the only thing the Edgewater has going for it. This hotel and casino is old, really old. You can walk into this hotel and really feel like you have gone back in time 40 years. With some TLC it could be a really nice place.but right now, as long as the price for rooms is cheap and you don;t mind old, it is clean.
Michael's liquor is in a great location for running in to grab a quick soda or for a beer run. They have a good variety of both soda and beer and are fairly reasonable in their prices.
This is a store that's OK to stop by if its one the way, but otherwise there are better stocked stores in the area. For a quick beer run it will do in a pinch but you will pay, probably better to go to the grocery store across the street.
I have spent plenty of Super Bowl Sundays at The Orleans. Whether you are at a table in the showroom enjoying beer and food or gambling on the casino floor watching the big screens the atmosphere in this place is amazing. The rooms are clean and the food is good. This is a great off the strip hotel.
Nevada Landing is an ok casino. I have never won there, but I have played slots from time to time. The Buffet is ok in a pinch but as a hole, the casino seems a bit dirty, probably because its very dated and in need of some updating. Stop here is you must, but the Prim resorts are definitely a better choice.
I attended a wedding at Bally's and it was very nice. They were able to rent out a room for the reception and we did karaoke and it was fun. Unfortunately after being treated quite badly by a security guard right after the event I have not returned to the hotel or casino. Hopefully it was just a fluke thing, because aside from that bad experience my time at Ballys was really fun.
Red Rock Casino is another locals casino that also caters to people visiting Vegas that want more then just the glitz of the strip. The rooms are very nice and cozy and the resort is simply beautiful. Its a great place to stay when you want to be near Vegas but not right in the action.
