Racelegal.com
This is a pretty cool concept. It allows drivers to race on a supervised night without getting in trouble with the law. People bring out their hottest and latest projects they've been working on and everybody who comes gets to watch how everyone stacks up against one another. If you're into cars and racing this is a cool event to come to. The food is expensive like any other event and musical entertainment is usually provided. It gets really cold and there aren't any designated seats, so I suggest bringing a big jacket or blanket and a lawn chair. Some nice cars make it out. And its always funny to see people who think they can beat the cop cars, you just gotta go to find out who can!
Stereo Depot
This place is pretty cool. They'll install your stereo, sub woofers, amps and things like that according to your car make and year for a pretty good price but it all adds up to a lot quickly; and sometimes they do a cheap job too. I had a dvd player put in and they couldn't even put the surrounding case on right. They told me to go buy my own super glue so either I or they could glue it on. I think the customer service and mechanics have gotten a little lazy.
Club Caribe
Club Caribe, is a cool place to hang out and let loose with your friends every once in awhile. Of course there will be the older guys trying to get your number and grind on you, but they are just grimey. The dance floor is small, basically the whole place is small. The music is okay not even good enough to make you want to go back. I went and I don't feel the need to go back.
5 Star Market & Liquor
This place is a liquor store. It comes with what's expected the lotto tickets, smokes, beer and drinks, chips and all the snacks and food at a price a little above what would be in a grocery store. But if you're quick stepping and on the move just stop by here if you don't mind the few extra cents. There aren't any homeless or crazy solicitors outside to harass you. Customer service is pretty good.
Farmers Market
This farmer's market is great. They have a huge variety of all kinds of fruits and vegetables. They also carry snacks you can pack for lunches such as banana chips, chocolate pretzels, gummy bears, and even cereal. They have a little deli section where you can get different kinds of meat. Everything from the eggs to candy is always a good deal. The quality of the produce is fantastic. Everything is always fresh. Customer service is great; they're kind and helpful. They also serve frozen yogurt, and it tastes fantastic.
Citlalli Mexican Food
The new owner who just recently bought it in the past few years changed the name to Citlalli, raised the prices of all foods but it's the exact same thing because the same cooks are there. The bacon breakfast burrito with sour cream is bomb. The chefs cook the food great. The colors of the shop are hideous. Bright fire engine red takes up a lot of the building, shiny candy green, and glowing neon yellow cover every inch of the place. This place is conveniently located in front of a high school on a corner so you can't miss it. The food is pretty good just a little overpriced from before.
Santee Drive-In Swap Meet
The line at this drive in is never long like that at the movie theater. You can watch 1 or 2 movies if you choose for less than the price of one ticket at the movie theater. It's like a throwback thing to do to remember how things used to be for cheap. You don't have to break your pockets to watch a movie and hang out with your significant other or with a group of friends. It's a great time, I love it.
Cotija's Mexican Food
This place has a window for people to walk up to but its not a drive through, which makes no sense at all because you can walk inside and order as well. There's tables to eat inside and out. The carneasada burritos are good and so are the carneasada fries. But the breakfast burritos not so much, you can pick which breakfast burrito you want but if you don't say they might not ask and they assume you want a ham, bean, egg, and salsa burrito... not so good.
Hung Tattoo Parlor
Hung's Tattoo Parlor is a great place to go for tattoos. They have great customer service, someone is always there to answer your questions and help you with your tattoo ideas. Hung prices his works at a reasonable amount and doesn't overprice customers like many other shops would do. The environment is professional and clean. He's really great at free handing tattoos and I'm pretty sure he's tatted half the people in San Diego.
Toda Moda
This store has a lot of accessories but I would say it's better for clothing items that will be used as basics like tank tops, basic scoop and v-neck t-shirts. They have plenty of basic items essential for layering at a reasonably low price and the employees working there are very nice.
