My siblings and I chose Carvers after taking a look at all the Restaurant Week menus. Originally, we had a reservation at Crab Catcher but the Restaurant Menu didn't WOW us so we chose Carvers. My brother told me he didn't check reviews, so we didn't know what to expect. Located in a strip mall (Vons Plaza, directly behind Starbucks) it's a little hidden, and a wonderful surprise.
Since it was Restaurant Week, we got 3 course meals for either $30 or $40. I especially love that they had two price options. For the appetizers, we went with two orders of calamari and the stuffed portabello mushroom. Both were DELICIOUS. SO GOOD. The Calamari was thick and quite possibly the best I've ever had.
For the entrees, we ordered the Lamb Shank ($40), Bacon wrapped Filet Mignon ($40), and the 10 oz Prim Rib ($30). I would have to say the Filet mignon was my absolute favorite. ordered it medium rare and it came perfect. The Prime Rib was good as well. We were not in love with the Lamb, but it was tasty. A lot better with sauce.
Dessert: 2 orders of cremebrule and one order of the chocolate cake. THE CREMBRULE WAS PERFECT. Mmmm. So good! Haven't had the chocolate cake yet, but it looks delicious! :)
Overall a really good find and I'll definitely come back again. Loved the restaurant week options.
The fries here are at the perfect crispy level. They taste delicious and have the perfect amount of seasoning. Also the burgers are pretty good too. Just the right amount of tenderness. But I definitely come here for the fries. They are delicious.
This is a nice change from your typical coffee chain - I think the name "Same Old Grind" is so cute!
There is a great selection of coffees and teas to choose from and you can order by the 1/4 lb, 1/2 lb, or 1 lb sizes.
Kona blend is my favorite! It's delicious and smooth, and I always crave it!
The garlic cheesy bread is SOOO delicious here! Have to order it.
This is your standard family owned Italian Restaurant and I love it! The waiters are always friendly and try to help whenever possible. The food does take a little while to come out though, that's why I recommend the garlic cheesy bread to curb your appetite.
Mmmm.. almost anything on the menu is good to try! So go go go go go.
Mandarin Chef is a pretty nice restaurant to go to when you're craving chinese food, but the food is only okay..
There are the regular choices on normal chinese restaurant menus, but then there is also hot pot. The hot pot is about $14/person and that is what we had on our last visit. The food quality was only decent and not to die for. But the staff is nice and its always good to try new restaurants!
The rice porridge here is really good. you can order yams, and it's a delicious add on! The side dishes here are really yummy and the portions and prices are great. I highly recommend coming here with family and/or friends for a nice lunch.
Ye Loy restaurant is in Temple City, CA. and it is not the best chinese food in town, but there are a couple of dishes here that are good to try. the egg drop soup is pretty good. They serve cantonese style chinese food here and the waiters are friendly enough. On the upside, they even deliver!
This place is awesome to stop by for some yummy chinese breakfast - such as soy milk, chinese donuts, and rice rolls. They are goooood!
The service is quick and everyone is nice and friendly.
Mandarin Noodle Deli serves many types of noodles, and the ones I've tried are delicious! I usually order the beef noodle soup (niu ro mien) and its mmm good! They give you a great portion of beef and noodles.
The restaurant does get pretty crowded and busy, so come during non peak hours.
Apollo is a great place to stop by in Temple City if you're hungry. My favorite plates are the breakfast - they grill everything to perfection so the food is delicious! Also if you are thirsty the Lollicup is a great place to get yummy boba and frozen drinks for a great deal.
